Hendo injury

After being thoroughly checked over by the medics, on Wednesday it was determined that the skipper’s injury was not a long-term setback and that he could possibly feature for the side when Liverpool travels to the Emirates to take on Arsenal. While the injury is nothing too serious according to the medical staff, the 25-year-old looked to be in much discomfort before being subbed off against the Cherries. Thus, Henderson will be allowed to make the decision for himself whether or not he can play come match day.

So, unless his leg is hanging off, he'll start.

There is this though from another poster on another site :

My lad saw him limping around The Trafford Centre yesterday. Said he spoke to him & he claims it's unlikely he'll be ready for Monday.

Shit decision to play him. I could have understood the decision if he had played as a CM and not as a DM. He is our best option in central midfield but we have better options in defensive midfield like Can and Lucas. Henderson have never delivered playing DM. Play him central midfield or not at all. Stop playing players out of position.

In the Echo that if he doesnt respond to the treatment these next few days he wont be risked.
Havent trained all week.

Can is the most likely replacement.

Does anyone remember the time Ryan described our lineup for a game against Arsenal as tactical suicide?

Nope. I remember us going their once with a pairing everyone insisted was the best around, in Gerrard and Alonso, and we got dry humped in midfield.

To be fair, Arsenal are probably the most difficult team to approach, because alot just depends on the Arsenal that turns up on the day. On their day they can twat anyone, but they can also turn up like a bunch of fannies that don't fancy it.

I feel a bit more confident with Benteke ruffling their feathers (especially from setpieces where we get alot of joy against them). And contrary to fair reservations about Can, one of the things Arsenal hate is movement around them in midfield. On paper, saying we need a DM is one thing, but Arsenal thrive on playing around static sides, if you go at them they go on the back foot and it disrupts their tempo and ability to get going. If you battle with them aswell then it works even more so.

We need to just ensure that we keep it tight at the back and that we track them on the counter, but I wouldn't focus obsessively on putting men behind the ball or having a particular player to stop Ozil or whoever, because they're a team of play makers who like to slip into the gaps infront of the defense, with other players making disguised runs in between zones. EVERYONE needs to do their jobs and pick up players. We have to be alert, be sharp from the off and first to everything and THAT will give us a fighting chance.

Didn't DB post his prediction for the lineup for Ryan to mock it, only for that to be the actual lineup? Or was that something else? How did we get on?

I think there was a Portsmouth game where someone fluked a team line up. Maybe it was Rurik.

Not getting into another Lucas debate but IMO if Hendo is out then our only option is go at Arsenal all guns blazing...................

............................................Mignolet..................................
Clyne..................Skrtel.......................Lovren..................Gomez
...............................Milner...........Can..................................
...........Firmino................Coutinho..............Lallana.........................
...................................Benteke........................................

This won't be the team Rodger's picks but it should be (if Hendo is out) and we'd win 2-4.

Rodgers on Henderson: "We are assessing Jordan day by day. We will see how he goes in the next 48 hours."
