Just seen Heinzes name mentioned on newsnow and made me think. Will we be back in for him this season. Can play at left back and act as cover for centre back, which we need now that samis gone.

I hope not, he's useless

Yup

There is this real idiot on RAWK that thinks he'll be a good signing despite not having seen him play at all for Real. When told that he was shit, his response was:

"but Rafa wouldn't buy him if he was terrible."

Thank god for 6CM.

Real Madrid & Liverpool Reach Xabi Alonso Agreement - Report

31 May 2009 07:30:19
Goal.com

Liverpool and Real Madrid have reached an agreement over Xabi Alonso, and the player will be presented next week, according to reports.

According to Sport, the two clubs have settled on terms and all the remains is the player's signature. The initial transfer fee is €25 million, but the fee could increase depending on whether or not Liverpool can come to an agreement with Gabriel Heinze, who could be part of the deal.

Alonso is expected to sign a five-year contract and will be presented next week, when he will be in Madrid for the Spanish training camp ahead of the Confederations Cup.

It is believed that Liverpool also tried to involve Alvaro Negredo in the discussions, but that was not a viable option, since Madrid would have had to pay €15 million just to exercise their buy-out clause with Almeria.

Rumours are also suggesting that Florentino Perez will present his new coach next Monday, with Manuel Pellegrini the overwhelming favourite.

Alonso is likely to be the first of many signings over the summer, with Perez expected to spend in excess of €300 million.

why are our transfer windows always so fucking depressing?

barry and heinze; it's last summer all over again. thank the lord for downing's injury.

Exactly.

Surely the year in between has shown what fuckign stupid decisions they would have been, yet he wants to make them anyway.

On the upside though, if he does make these moves I won't have to suffer him for much longer

If we sell Alonso and get that fucking useless cunt Heinze as part of the deal, then quite frankly Benitez can go and FUCK HIMSELF

That is all

Benitez - you have been warned

On the plus side, the source is only goal.com (or whatever Spanish mag they read).

Time for Rafa to use those man management skills we keep hearing about to convince Xabi to stay - that is, if it is Xabi who wants to leave.

Either way, let's hope the Heinze rumours are nothing more than rumours.

I Want To Stay With Real Madrid - Gabriel Heinze

Gabriel Heinze has said that he wants to stay at Real Madrid past the summer but that he is not sure what is going to happen.

The Argentine has not been at his best this year for the capital club and there have been rumours that he will be leaving when the new president comes in.

However, speaking to AS he rubbished reports stating that his intention is to leave Madrid.

"Whatever is said in the press is not true 99 per cent of the time, I know what goes on. I have a year left on my contract and I am happy. The people who come in with the new project will put their view forward, and I mine, then we will sort it out as adults. I would like to stay, but I have already seen so many things in football," he mused.

With regards to Madrid, Heinze acknowledged that even though they have nothing to play for this weekend, they have to be professional.

"Madrid have to win games
, even though Osasuna are playing for more. We have a very professional dressing room and we cannot talk about what else goes on, aside from the result. We will not be going out there walking. We must respect the fact that they are playing for something. Wearing this shirt means you have responsibility," he declared.

The defender also said that it has been a "strange" season for Madrid and briefly analysed the Champions League final.

"Manchester [United] surprised me. I expected more, but one has to give credit. [Sir Alex] Ferguson recognised that the best team on the night was Barcelona," he concluded.

So professional that they've lost the last four games on the trot as soon as they got dumped out of the title race by Barca....

Perez, you've got a valuable asset there. Don't let him get away.
