I Want To Stay With Real Madrid - Gabriel Heinze
Gabriel Heinze has said that he wants to stay at Real Madrid past the summer but that he is not sure what is going to happen.
The Argentine has not been at his best this year for the capital club and there have been rumours that he will be leaving when the new president comes in.
However, speaking to AS he rubbished reports stating that his intention is to leave Madrid.
"Whatever is said in the press is not true 99 per cent of the time, I know what goes on. I have a year left on my contract and I am happy. The people who come in with the new project will put their view forward, and I mine, then we will sort it out as adults. I would like to stay, but I have already seen so many things in football," he mused.
With regards to Madrid, Heinze acknowledged that even though they have nothing to play for this weekend, they have to be professional.
"Madrid have to win games
, even though Osasuna are playing for more. We have a very professional dressing room and we cannot talk about what else goes on, aside from the result. We will not be going out there walking. We must respect the fact that they are playing for something. Wearing this shirt means you have responsibility," he declared.
The defender also said that it has been a "strange" season for Madrid and briefly analysed the Champions League final.
"Manchester [United] surprised me. I expected more, but one has to give credit. [Sir Alex] Ferguson recognised that the best team on the night was Barcelona," he concluded.
