Kris, it's not even his ability or lack of that bothers me, people just seem desperate for us to sign *anyone*, alot of these same posters moan about us buying players for the sake of it, for buying 3rd/4th choice targets and wasting MORE money. Be angry at the club for not backing us over the first choices (even then, we should always have an outline of what we will spend), but don't fucking jump on every other clubs signings and start pointing the finger. As I've said for weeks, people seem keen to overlook the fact that Spurs have £100m in their pocket. They've sold their best player, we haven't.

Anyways, Suarez might be a complete uber-bellend, but him, Countinho and Sturridge still piss on anything they've got to offer. And their defense is a fucking shambles.

I am never pointing fingers at the club for losing out on targets when it comes to being outbid and I too agree that we should have a limit when it comes to any player. I have even backed the Alberto signing to some extent as I have never seen him play and have faith in Rodgers when it comes to spotting talent.

This however, is a different story. If reports are to be true we have actually decided this one is not good enough which can only mean one thing, some of our European scouts are amazingly daft.

Secondly with the quoted prize being in the region of £10M-£12M, in other words very very decent in an elsewhere inflated market where Chelsea and City etc. pays +£30M for relatively unknown Brazilians, we are actually looking at a rather risk free bet. He is despite what you say/think very highly rated after and even a few poor Seasons with us and we'd still be able to recoup most if not all.

He is even ok with not going to a ChL playing club, something it seems have been a stumbling block with other targets, he's quite level-headed and trustworthy, and he has been directly involved in 68 goals i his 92 Eredivisie games for Ajax from the age of 18 to 21. Even if you haven't seen him like a 100 times like I have you should at least consider the possibility that we really really should be all over this.

I think Alberto is shit but if it means missing out on this lad it's a price I'm willing to pay.

Just to see Khl lose it

I am not going to stream it so you won't actually see it though.

HA!

All this spending means that a transfer fee for Bale has been agreed in principle, yes? Can Real change their bid or even withdraw it at this point? It would be a right riot to have Real turn around and offer to stump up £30m now.

I wasn't really accusing you, just in general, some of the hyperbole from posters who are the first to moan about players like Downing etc is laughable. "Yeah let's fork out £30m on a player I hadn't heard of until yesterday, because he's Brazilian and he's got shit hair".

This however, is a different story. If reports are to be true we have actually decided this one is not good enough which can only mean one thing, some of our European scouts are amazingly daft. - Again, with the greatest of respect, you would say that given that you are a fan and he's one of your own. I like the look of Eriksen and I've said that before, but there's always this underlying concern that he's a big fish in a small pond and if he actually moved, he might get found wanting. Of course he could end up being amazing.

The stats don't bother me, though as I've said in the past, from what I've seen admittedly he does have a fair amount of promise. I'd presonally like to see how much of those goals he's been involved in were actually setpieces

This would be the sweetest thing that could happen on Transfer Deadline Day.

What prejudice? Is any of that untrue? No one has bid for him all Summer, yet he's been lauded as this great player, and now he's going for 3x £4m installments. I've never said I don't rate him, I've got my doubts and the lack of Summer activity has compounded that concern. As opposed to Kris asking "what on earth are we doing?. No prejudice there, obv.

I meant when it comes to the 6CM community as a whole. I don't want to sound patronizing but your posts are better when you're more focused on your own opinions. Right now you just seem angry quite a lot of the time!

Binny showed a stat elsewhere with regards to his goals, he's only just begun scoring from freekicks, so out of his 25 Eredivisie goals around 3 if I am not mistaken, 1 from this Season. Thereabouts at least.

I can understand why you are cautious taking my word for it as he's Danish. I have seen this lad so many times however over the past four years I know he's the real thing. That's the main reason why I am feeling a bit of apathy towards our setup and club if reports are true, that we don't rate him.

Then we are in a far grimmer place imo than when simply being outbid in our hunt for targets..

Goals from set pieces in the league (2 overall):

2013/14 2 goals in 4 appearances: 1 from open play
2012/13 10 goals in 33 appearances: 9 from open play
2011/12 7 goals in 33 appearances: 7 from open play

I am not Danish but from watching him many times for Ajax I am disappointed that we are not in for him. It was known for a while that he was not going to be any more than 12 mill and that is a bargain for the lad.

Please put your hand on this book and repeat after me Cloggy:

*I solemnly swear, I am not Danish, nor have I ever talked to one, met one, let alone seen one or have had indecent thoughts about Helena Christensen*

It's strange, because alot of the players that have gone to the big clubs, we seem to have been linked with. So either we're going for the obvious, our scouts are picking players above what we can reasonably afford, or this conspiracy theory that other clubs are getting in on our act, is true. Either way, we need to go back to the drawing board and opt for players like Coutinho and Sturridge, promising lads who for one reason or another haven't quite made it elsewhere. Maybe that's where Moses fits into the equation, but then maybe Eriksen is of similar ilk, I don't know. Time will tell I guess. I'm as frustrated as anyone, I just don't get the constant comparisons with Spurs, they've just pocketed £100m so that will of course give them more leverage, not really the case with CE, but in general over the Summer, it's why they've spent big and why they managed to outbid/outplay us over Soldado and Willian.

I agree he's soft and poofy and frankly I don't really like him after watching World Cup 2010.

But in fairness we spent almost the same amount on Alberto and Aspas and frankly he is better than those two.

He'll probably have the same contribution level as Meireles / Benayoun - not a league beater but he will bring a good handful of goals and victories and for we can do with that at this price and at this stage of the window. He's good value. If we aren't in for him I hope it's because we have earmarked someone better but at this stage my hopes aren't high.

Spurs need a player like him, they're crying out for a playmaker. I really hope he flops, leaves for a low price after a season, and becomes a superstar.
