I wonder how Citeh fans feel about this? Maureen said similar when at Chelsea and I put myself in their shoes and it would really piss me off, even if it is true.

“I thought they’d (Barca) score a goal at Anfield, and I am sure the players knew that Anfield is Anfield,” Guardiola said.

“The motto ‘This is Anfield’ is no marketing spin. There’s something about it that you will find in no other stadium in the world.

“They score a goal and over the next five minutes you feel that you’ll receive another four. You feel small and the rival players seem to be all over you.”

“We’ve all gone through what happened to Barca,” he added.

“They were laughing at me when we were losing 3-0 after the first 15, 20 minutes of the quarter-final. It’s a bugger of a ground.”

I’m sure we’ll get an interesting insight to City fans thoughts via Blue Fume.

I think it's awesome opposing managers recognise it's power. Long may it continue to awe and influence.

He's obviously just suggesting that the atmosphere at Anfield nullifies the advantage they get from all the financial doping.

I suppose not, but at least Guardiola's statements are based in fact

If course they are but it’s exactly why i shouldn’t have said it.

Just to be clear I love the fact he did. It basically is giving his players an easy out for freezing at Anfield next season.

It would be fine for him to say it after he retires from management. It’s hilarious he has said it now.

The comments are not that insane in the context of the barca game. The wider point he is making is that no team can play their open game against us at home as we punish them.

They're pretending he didn't say anything over at the fume. One person said he wished he wouldn't come out with this stuff, we're delusional enough already, but that hasn't been followed up anyone. Straight into denial, which is fair enough I suppose

Don't think he's saying anything most people involved in the sport in whatever manner don't already say - it's a pretty simple narrative and im sure it will resurface should City win here next season

To be honest the only other place where I have seen an atmosphere in England that compares (almost) on European nights is Aston Vila. I don't know about Nots.Forest - too young to recall, but would it be similar ?
