If people had a choice between Sangare or Grav for what'd pretty much be the same price....??

When was the last transfer deadline day when something big happened for us?

I remember Andy Carroll and Torres was pretty much last day. Most transfer deadline days are quiet with just a few loans

Torres had a full pre season. Suarez was signed on the same day as Carrol i think, for significantly less 😀

A bit of a google and I find:

Albert Riera (2008)
Paul Konchesky (2010)
Craig Bellamy (2011)
Mamadou Sakho (2013)
Tiago Iloiri (2013)
Victor Moses (loan, 2013)
Oxlade-Chamberlain (2017)

All summer windows - Andy Carroll was winter one (2011)

Going back slightly further (but worth it, because it was so brutal), there was also that deadline day when we signed two goalkeepers, relegating Westerveld to third choice overnight.

I am hoping Endo is going to be really good, but he isn't going to be Mascherano
I do not know if it is McA, Szobo or Endo, but we are looking more solid at the back. If we cut out on the silly brainfart mistakes we will easily make top 4.

I think it’s mainly playing with 10 men and having to stay compact. Remains to be seen if we can play expansively and do a good job on defensive transitions.

Going down to 10 does suit us or has suited to this point at least, when defending as it forces us to to sit a lot deeper and compact as we would normally like.

We are capable, we showed it in the last 11 games of last season....for me we have the personnel, just a case of getting the balance right and being fortunate a long the way with injuries.

Because our counter attacking is world class

True, but I think it gives us some confidence that we can defend when we want to now. For a big part of last season we couldn't defend to save our lives, even with 11.

So Fulham have got Iwobi from Everton. Does that mean Palhinha can go to BM?

I hope so, I have this horrible horrible feeling if we don't get Gravenberch we'll do something stupid......

Like go for Kalvin Philips

Sky saying German press reporting a €55M (£47M) bid for Palhinha with Fulham wanting €70M (£60M)

Fulham losing some big players this summer.

Solomon
Willian
Mitrovic
Adiorobayo
and potentially Palhinha

So, you're saying we should probably just put the wallet away today.

McTominay to Fulham
Palhinha to Bayern
Gravenberch to Us

That's the chain that needs to happen in that sequence too
