Well that's the thing. He's hardly Lucas. He can score and I guess I'm surprised he's hasn't bagged a few more. As Peter points out though who gives a fuck as long we keep winning.
I think people just saw he scored 12 for Newcastle last season (or how ever many he got) and assumed that's what we were getting. Its not, he's nowhere near as forward in our system as he plays a totally different role. He shouldn't be expected to get any more than 5 a season. Same with Henderson. The other 5 more attacking chaps should all be hitting double figures plus though (which they are on course to).
I think people are underestimating his ability to get goals and be in the right place.
Yesterday Lallana pinched one of his toe and another time he made a beautiful unseen run right into the 18 yard box and a little slide pass puts him in on the keeper, I cant remember who the player was who had the ball but they tried to beat a player and lost it. It was a simple pass.
He could have had 2 yesterday easily.

Wijnaldum should get more goals or assists. He can't be compared to Henderson because he's rarely in the box. Wijnaldum makes his way into the box at every opportunity but he's barely getting any chances mostly because of his height and poor crosses.

I've said it in a number of my posts about him, that he has that instinct to be in the right place in the box so I have no fear that the goals will come. At present though he has fluffed his lines every single time he has had a shooting opportunity.
As mentioned though - it isn't a concern and when you see how he plays in midfield compared to say Emre Can when he plays more advanced, his grace and agility is fantastic.

He's had his fair share of critics has Gini, deserved or not that's you for you make your minds up on.
But 1 thing you can't take away form him is his desire and passion for the game...he's adapted a new role and responsibilities @ LFC which he's not been used to previously but he's come in and settled in very well.
No doubt in my mind he'll be a big player for us in the years to come...hopefully with more success than we've had in recent years.

That was truly a thunderous header from an absoliutely stag-like leap. Couldn't have struck that more sweetly - and Lallana 's cross was inch perfect.
More of that and I'll start buying into the whole "Wijnaldum is good" myth thing.

Do you mean Ferdinand? Shearer wasnt known for headers at all.

Ferdinand was superb in the air but I remember Shearer having a great leap too
Shearer was dynamite in the air. Not the tallest but his timing and power with headers was a big part of his game.
He is a one of a number of headers of the ball in our squad.

Don't give a fuck about shearer. Just popped in to say this guy is fast becoming my favourite player. I love everything about him. He's brave, hardworking, passionate, great on the ball, looks like he's Chinese but he isn't, so is also a master of disguise.
