To be fair, Shearer was very much that too, he was such an immense striker.
Yes he's class. If Klopp understandably sees him as a deeper lying midfielder then he needs to work on his shooting from outside the box but he's a very adaptable footballer and he's doing a brilliant job. I would like to see him unleashed a bit though. I feel there's a Lallana style improvement waiting to get out.
Why are you talking about Shearer in such distant past tense? It was only, 20 years ago, ah I see.
He's got some kind of aura about him, I don't know what it is and I can't really put my finger on it at all, but he looks like a genuine, perma-happy bloke and it's incredibly infectious on the pitch. As was mentioned in the commentary against City, apparently he's given the dressing room a huge lift and he's just one of those personalities that everyone gets on with.
So I fully get the idea that he's become a real favourite, that's the sort of mentality you want to see in your team. It's why I've got similar admiration for the likes of Milner, Klavan, Matip, Origi and Henderson. They all look like good lads who have the mentality to be winners.
