Fulham Pre-Match

I expect Suarez to be pulled early if we're lucky enough to go a couple ahead on Wed, & I want him rested for the fa Cup game.

Not cos it's a cup game, but cos he so desperately needs it.

I'm fine with being pulled early, and next game after Arsenal is a whole week later, at home to Swansea, so that's a fair rest then. I'm not fine, as Mystic seemed to suggest, with playing Moses/Aspas ahead of one of SAS-S for the cup game.

Start well, with an unchanged team, in both games and then make the subs on the hour (hopefully a given in the Fulham game) if/when we're up and in control.

I still think the FA Cup is a big opportunity for us to win silverware, finishing in the top four is essential, but silverware is our lifeblood.

If Fulham want to park the bus then that's all good. Our attack isn't as weak or predictable as manure. We won't just be huffing down the byline to whip in a cross. Our interchanging front 3 will tear them a new one. Yeah its a lot harder to break down a team that way but we're still good enough to score.

Yeah it is but surely this season top 4 has to be a priority. If i had a choice between beating fulham and beating arsenal in the FA cup then i'd choose the 3 points. We're still with an OUTSIDE chance of getting 2nd or 3rd.

I agree entirely, and I also like the F.A cup, it's the oldest footy cup competition in the world, it means something. I'm also a firm believer in momentum, and beating them twice in a week would see us with enough confidence and forward drive to romp to a top 4 finish, IMO.

Got tickets for this fixture as usual every year. Hope it's more like the 5-2 maxi Rodriguez brace or the Sturidge hatrick I witnessed down there. Certainly don't want the game to be like the shit 1-0 when reina threw it in and spearing got sent off.

We are going to stuff them.

I expect this game to be more difficult than people are saying, Fulham will pack the defence and Sterling will get very little space to run into so Id consider resting him for Allen in this one and pushing Coutinho further forward. That said we have an extra days rest and they were fighting til the final whistle on Sunday where as we were resting players from about 50 minutes so we should be much fresher than them.

This will probably be a scrappy one, 1-0 or 2-0 but we will have to be patient I dont expect another blitzkreig attacking display cos Fulham will be happy to sit very deep an soak it up hoping to nick something on the counter. They also have some big units in defence so we probably wont be getting free headers like we did against Everton and Arsenal to break the deadlock.

Imo, dont change a thing, those guys are going to feel like the leagues best at the moment, let them play as if they are.

Once again we need a high tempo start. Fulham are physically tired but if they are allowed to click straight back into that defensive mode they'll relish the challenge.

We should be a day or so fresher as well.

Like the current government?

Every Govt gets 30/35% of the vote. Were you moaning when it was labour fucking up the economy, regulating the banks but not enforcing the regulation?

When will people see that they're all as bad as one another and taking a left or right stance on it, is what dooms any decent chance of progression.

As far as possible we should go after both IMO, but I definitely agree that top four is the priority. It's far more important for our long-term success that we get back in the Champs League and stay there.

Personally I'm looking a lot higher than just a 'Top 4' finish. In fact I think Rodgers was cryptically alluding to that when he said in the post match interview " finish as high as we can".

Exackerley.

I remember reading somewhere that we are currently the highest scoring team for 1st halves this season, if I'm not mistaken, in Europe too. That's our style. It works. With devastating effect too.

Let's blitz them, throw the entire kitchen sink and then hopefully we'll have won the 1st half by so big a margin that we can afford to rest players in the 2nd half. And never ever chop and change a winning team, especially one which is on form. It's basic 101 of any management book.

I think this game is critical to our season - we've seen how well Fulham defended and fought yesterday. They have a good head coach and are set up well with players who are fighting for their premier league salaries etc.

We need to treat this game exactly like we treated Everton and Arsenal. A win Wednesday will further put pressure on Spurs and Everton. The more we win, and win convincingly, the more they'll be under pressure to keep up ... and that's when fuck ups happen.

Me too, that's why I didn't say romp to 4th. I have thought for a long time that 2nd is where we'll finish.

Did Fulham defend well or did Utd make them look good?
Two very different things imho.
The constant crossing played it into Fulhams hands.

I've got no doubt that it will be a tough match on wednesday though, it will..

Fulham's back four lack pace.

Dan Burns is a 6ft 6" CB.
Aging Heitenga is not known for his pace.
JAR well...is JAR. Much older and slower too.

The sensible approach would be to play the same way we did against Arsenal. We have pace to burn.

I would it's unlikely that we will play with the same intensity as we did against Arsenal, we seem to have this ability to do it at home, and against the big teams, but not so much away against the lesser sides. I hope we can, but don't think it's likely. Despite his form, I wouldn't mind seeing us leaving Sturridge on the bench, aiming our attacks through Suarez, and bringing Sturridge on after about 60 minutes.

I'd have Sturridge on the right cos Riise doesn't have a right foot so it's easier for Sturridge to cut inside than Sterling

Assuming it's goes ahead..

How do we line up?

Talk of it being postponed due to the planned Tube Strikes..

Its a joke if its called off.
Why isnt the Arse game in doubt aswell?

Fans might not get to the ground because of the tub. Fuck off.
Taxi, bus, train etc

People still make it to work in the morning.
