I remember this lad. There was another thread about him previously, and someone mentioned that his tackling might lead to cards in England. Have to say I agree.

Yeah, he's a bit sluggish. We've got a few players who read the game pretty well to intercept the ball. We need a real enforcer who will dominate and be energetic too.

He gets loads of space in those videos, would like to see how he copes in a game where he's under more pressure.

Albeit via only these u-tubes he doesn't look sluggish to me. He looks almost like a Mascher who can pass. I agree with DHSC that his tackling style would lead to cards here. Although he's a great tackler he likes using two-feet, which tends to have refs reaching for a card– yellow if you're lucky.

could you expand? if you mean Mascher couldn't pass, that is very harsh. he was a very good passer of the ball and went on to seamlessly fit into one of the best passing sides the world has seen. sure he wasn't a magnificent passer in the cat of xavi and co, but you don't get to his level without passing be a strength.

I'd say Mascher's passing stats would have had him in the 70-80% mark. He was decent, but the fact he has never been a part of Barca's midfield, but largely plays at the back where his job is to roll the ball to Busquets or Xavi or Iniesta, means your point is flawed. The fact is, he didn't fit seamlessly into their midfield, and never has.

i don't have the stats @King Binny, but he was a better passer of the ball you and others give him credit for. he was captain for argentina and did not stand out as a problem re: passing with some many incredibly talented players around him. He did play for Barca in the middle, but his withdrawal to the back was partly down to their inability to buy/find cb's. moreover, the way barca play from the back, puts extra impetus on a players having a good passing point. sure his passing wasn't the same level as xavi, inesta, but whose is?

this is not the first time we have had some revisionist analysis of Mascher - he was magnificent for us, and very good passer. his inordinate ability to win the ball back sometimes means we neglect other parts of his game which were superb too.

I loved Mascher Red, I just don't think he was a great passer. So shoot me.

Masher is not a great passer but then I wouldn't call him a bad one either. I'd say he was a limited passer of the ball. He was fine when he played it short and safe, but ran into difficulties when he tried to do more than that.

He confirmed that back in October.

It was confirmed last night on Twitter that we've reached a pre contract agreement with Fernando

If you got nothing better to do, then you're an even more sad cunt than I thought.
Di Marzio just published a story about Fernando on his FB, just now. Thats why he tweeted it I guess. Di Marzio is the best source out there. Interest confirmed in October, but this is new:

@dimarzio: Liverpool, interessa Fernando del Porto http://t.co/FAXap8aWB9

You should talk more about how Suarez wont have another season like the 12/13. I actually feel sorry for you.
