Diego Costa

Sounds like this guy is the best we're gonna get at this stage.

If he is a cheating bastard, our PR team are going to have to start planning their overtime.

Sounds like he has alot of room to improve which could be a great thing.

A front 3 of him Suarez and Sturridge now that would be special with Coutinho in behind and aspas on the bench with Ibe and Sterling

well let's be honest , rodger's "bigger" signings have been hit and miss . Borini/allen V Coutinho/Sturridge . So we'll have to see which way this one goes .

He's got 29 goals in 60 games over the last 2 seasons , pretty decent but before his goal return was nothing special .

And again i wonder , are we spending 21m in the right area ? Are we sure we shouldn't be spending it on a proper midfielder ? (unless of course he is part of a suarez replacement plan )

It seems all transfers are dragged out thee days as the relevant parties try to grab as much cash as possible.I'm slightly confused by the fact every media outlet is reporting our bid but Atletico have denied receiving it and we haven't confirmed that we lodged one. At this stage there doesn't seem to be anything beyond internet speculation to suggest this bid is real

Atlético de Madrid have denied reports that they have received an offer for centre-forward Diego Costa from Liverpool. The capital club told AS on Thursday evening that they have not received any offers, from Liverpool or any other club for the Brazilian. Atlético affirmed that there is zero possibility that Diego Costa will abandon the Vicente Calderón this summer or even next year.

In England, several newspapers have claimed that Liverpool have submitted an offer of 21.8 million pounds (25 million euros) to lure Diego Costa to Anfield - presumably as a direct replacement for Luis Suárez.

Atletico also told AS that they weren't gonna sell Torres to us either.

They aren't denying they would sell him, they have said he is available for the right fee. They are denying any bid from us has been lodged. If he was available and we bid the amount to trigger his release why would they deny it? I'm not saying we aren't interested but so far nobody from either club has substantiated it so I'm inclined to believe its just a media fabrication

well how do we know his buy-out clause ? Was it well published or have we been a little naughty (like everyone in football) and discussed the move with his agent . I mean dortmund found out last that goetze was off to bayern .

Every player in Spain has to have one by law, and I'm pretty sure they're made public too.

I think it's more plausible to believe that Atletico are bullshitting or playing for time than to believe every good source in the UK is going with it and giving prominence on its pages based on nothing. Papers like the Echo have a reasonable standard to maintain.
