Villa aren't offloading an unwanted fringe player, they're trying to cash in on one of their most valuable players.
It’s all relative. We well remember how good that most valuable player was when Villa sold one last time.

He is a mediocre at best and if mediocre is worth £40m then Ings is worth £20m. Don't believe me he is mediocre, look at his youtube clips. Warning. It may cause severe drowsiness.

If it means Brewster (was that his name?) replaces him and we bring another attacker capable of playing down the middle, I’m all for it.

Brewster is gong to be a star, but he'll be used sparingly to avoid us burning out a young player like we did with Owen. Aside from that, in terms of attackers on the bench, again the question that should be echoing in our head all summer is: who would you be encouraged seeing on the bench if we reach another final? Solanke, maybe, but for all his promise he's going to need a couple more years to become the kind of forward opposing fans feel nervous about when he comes on. So who else? No one, really, at the moment. So I think we really need to be forceful and imaginative when we recruit this summer. Brewster will be our exciting young player, but we surely need an experienced, proven, striker in the squad, and at least one other. Ings had a superb temperament, was a great professional who was patient and supportive and a great team player. So I'm sad he's leaving because that combination - if you add to it fitness and goals, of course! - is damned hard to find. It certainly won't be found in Shaqiri.

I'm not sure taking on a person about what a typo is, when he's actually written books, is going to get you very far.

I wasn't arguing, I just found a definition of typelexia. I agree whether a typo is caused by typelexia, dyslexia, fat fingers or brain deficit it is still a typo

Hahaha. Didn’t know the word existed.

I think this is a mistake on his part and I agree with Macca that he would be wise to give it one last go. He’s still young and at a top club where he could be a significant part of a title winning squad

At least he'll have played for Liverpool on his CV which is way more than a player with his limitations should ever have got.

He's barely a premier league standard footballer to be honest.

Seeya.
