Told the club he wants to leave and get regular playing time.
Several clubs are interested. What fee are we looking at then? 10-15?

Shame - I really think he could have fit well into Klopp's system if he'd been fit over the past 2 years and benefitted from his training methods etc. He'll do well for whoever he goes to but can't blame him for realising he is way down the pecking order, likely below Origi as well as Solanke.

He has had some bad luck with injuries. That said; I doubt he will ever be good enough for a top 4 team. We should be able to get a decent fee for him with the English premium.

I dont see the fee being a problem and if hes keen to move on this can probably be done relatively quickly though he will probably have to take a cut in wages. Hasnt worked oit for him, he had some shitty luck with injuries and his development went backwards. Hope he does well whereever he ends up as he always seemed to have a decent attitude.

Wouldnt be surprised to see him at Newcastle next season

It's a shame. And for all the terrible luck he' had, and his hard work getting back, it's us who've supported him, and paid him, for three years, only to have him leave when he might have a chance of being the player that we wanted as an option in the squad. He's been a great professional, but I think he should have given it one more year - his first real year at full fitness to prove what he can do.

It's a crazy market at the moment, you don't ask you don't get. We got £5m Lucas Leiva

The other side of that coin is when we go back to bid £50m for Fekir, after having unashamedly asked for £25m for Ings, we'll get raped far harder than if we'd just let him go for the £15m he's actually worth at best.

We won't get much.

Jurgen Klopp would have preferred the striker to stay but both manager and club recognise his reasons for going. Liverpool are expected not to ask for a prohibitive fee for the player, who has two years left on his current contract.

That's such an improvement in attitude compared to previous managers. When you present the transfer like that, plenty people will want to buy him and think they're getting a good discount. In the past, we've treated our deadwood like outcasts (probably so the dickhead manager can save some face over his idiotic decision to buy the cunt in the first place), and in the process we signal to every club on earth that we have unwanted shit for sale, then act all butthurt when we can't even give the cunt away.

I know what you mean but hes only got 2 years left on his contract. Another mediocre or injury disrupted season would make him virtually worthless in 12 months. If we can get £15-£20m this summer then I can totally understand why the club would cash in.

He was offered a new contract.

It's a shame because when he has been fit and grabbed a couple of games he's looked good. Oh well. We move on.

I'm hoping we will get a figure above £20m. He will get 13- 14 goals for an average team. Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Fulham, Watford and Southampton all need a decent striker.
The other two we need to offload are Origi and Sturridge. If we can £30m for both it will be good business.

I'm hoping we will get a figure above £20m. .

We only paid £8m (£6.5m + add-ons) for Ings, and that was after we were forced to by a tribunal, and when his injury record looked a hell of a lot better. And Burnley will get 20% of any fee we do get. So don't expect much.

Over £20m. For Danny Ings.

For fucking fuck's sake.

I'm not sure quite why you are humoring the thick embarrassing twonk macca. Well - I supposed it always fun to see how the other half live. 20mill???? *Hides head in shame*

We paid £40m for a player with 12 months left on his contract with a history of long term injuries.
The figure of £20m is based on potential and is quite realistic in today's market. Look at what Villa are asking for Jack Graelish, and he is just poor man's Jack Wilshere. In a few days time we'll obviously know what the club will ask for him.

If it means Brewster (was that his name?) replaces him and we bring another attacker capable of playing down the middle, I’m all for it.

Villa aren't offloading an unwanted fringe player, they're trying to cash in on one of their most valuable players.
