the last game against the viola will be extremely dull nothing to play for
No doubt Aquilani will get a full game.

C'ya Rafa.
Think so?
Highly unlikely.
Within the next month, probably yeah.

Maybe Inter would like a proper CL manager...

And we'd like a proper league manager...

Hmmm. Swapsies.
id wait to see the draw first though. if its bad noone will hold it against you if you put a quid on instead

We were eliminated by two mediocre sides. We had a poor campaign, as has our league campaign been so far. Gutted.

You'd be stupid to. There is no available evidence to think that we should be favorites to win the Europa league. It's a horrible bet. There are a bunch of ambitious young teams in there, teams which don't have close to our money but have a far better attitude, a more balanced squad and system of play. Teams that might win more than the odd game.

Teams that don't play two left backs against a shower of shit, teams that don't play a defensive midfielder and a low level bureaucrat functionary as their CM pairing. Managers that don't play down to the level of the opposition.

Our team is diseased this season, and the number of additional chances Rafa has to turn it around should be getting exhausted in the near future. What's worrying is the people in charge, if it comes to that.
Nope. It's a fight between them and the team they play next, at the San Siro.

No matter how bad things got in the league, we could always fall back on the CL and say.. "well, Rafa's brilliant in Europe".

I'm not sure whether I want Rafa gone. We certainly need the yanks out before him.
But even if, for example, we had 200m to spend by some rich Arab, I still suspect Kuyt would be our starting right winger next year. He's just too stubborn on certain things.

There are only eight players in the squad I feel sorry for Torres, Carragher, Gerrard, Auilani (cos he didn't know what he was letting himself in for) Agger, Reina, Mascherano and Johnson.

The rest of them are shit anyway, and deserve to play in the flippin Europa League.

I would add N'Gog too. At least he's trying.

Yep.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard: "The disappointing thing was having to rely on other people. We have played well today but now we have to try and move on, build on tonight and, with a lot of players coming back from injury, try and win the Europa League. Of course its disappointing. The Champions League is the main trophy at the start of the season but the only consolation now is to try and win the Europa League."
No but can be in next game and could well be in europa league.. *gulp*

There's rumour doing the rounds, saying Rafa was given 2 games to save his Liverpool career. Winning tonight and keeping us in the CL and Everton on sunday.

CL is over, and the match on sunday could go either way.
Should Rafa get the boot, Kenny will take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Just passing along what I've been told.

It would be nice to draw them and see G&H fly in for the home game.

Fucking hell, I don't want anyone fired until the summer and then only if we have a better option lined up. When I saw the Spurs-Wigan result the other day I just thought of Klinsmann or someone like him taking us over and thought "there but for the grace of God".

I don't think he has it in him. He's not the right man.

Yeah, go on then. I quite like him.

I don't believe the rumour for a minute. Apart from anything else it would be far too expensive. The only way it might happen is if a new owner with scads of money comes in and wants a change, and tonight's result hardly makes that likely.

If we HAD to appoint a caretaker, the King would be fine. Not on a permanent basis though.

It would obviously depend on results, but in principle no. He's been out of the game too long, and I don't think he'd even want the job on a permanent basis. It might also stain his legendary status, which would be a real shame.

I think so too. There would be better options. But surely we can't afford to sack him, mind. We'd rely on Rafa to step down.
