why? because I like what I see and want him to succeed. am 95% certain he would offer more than downing.
But he's not a winger. He'd cut inside continually and not track back in defence.
And lets be fair, it's not like we're not creating chances with downing in the team.
Suso ultimately wants to play in the middle. He needs to displace coutinho. He needs to prove it he deserves to start a game.
I'd LIKE suso to do well, but I WANT the team to do well.
I think suso wants to play full stop, he would play l;eft back if you told him that would be his chance to play. Downing on the right continously cuts in, and not to too much effect. Suso at least could link with coutinho and sturridge and produce some staggeringly sexy one touch football which would have us all drooling.
You're guessing on his attitude because you want it to be like that. Shelves has the attitude you're talking about. This season he's played in attack, defence, and in the middle.
Yes, those 3 could be sexy as Fuck, BUT today will be all about kicking our attackers. Derry, samba, 2 heavy footed galloots who will be beaten and then kick out.
Is suso strong enough to cope with that?
Earlier this season suso didn't do much when he played. Compared to coutinho (of similar age), he needs to up his productivity.

And that's harsh on downing yes he cuts in (annoyingly), but he does come back to help in defence. Downing has played in multiple positions to try and get in the squad. At the moment he's there on merit.

THERE'S THE JOKE I WANTED
comparing apples and oranges. coutinho is the real deal. suso is not, he is young and raw. early on he did really well against manure and others. he needs games and chances instead he has a no-body with no future in front of him (downing). Suso needs games like this to show us whether he can step up. Obviously Rogers is seeing something we don't. But I find it sad as I genuinely think he could be great.
Suso's got alot of potential, but I think people don't half exaggerate his current ability. He was great in the second half against Chelsea, but that sort of performance hasn't exactly been the norm, while Downing has given us good balance over the last few months and has played his part. I know people don't rate him, I know he might be on his way, but anyway. We've got Henderon, Sturridge, Coutinho and Ibe all in the line-up, all young and exciting players for us, to add to regular berths throughout the season for Sterling, Wisdom and Suso, that's great for the future of the club, so I wouldn't get too worked up about one of them not figuring, we've got a good blend at the moment which bodes well.
So basically this is just another *yawn*, Downing agenda. A "nobody". Really?
Yes, that's what everyone thinks Suso will do, however it isn't what he'll do. He'll be anonymous all game and do a shimy or two which will have everyone drooling. I'm not trying to be negative on Suso, he's fantastic, but lets not hype him up to be something hes not, like Sterling, he needs time to develop.
