This play by Enrique - he made his typical opportunistic diagonal run with the ball and cut back on his right foot. It wasn't technically a wrong decision to shoot here, it could have well been a goal if he could control it better with the right. But I can just see what how Barca would have continued this play: a pass to the striker (opponent's LCB and LB draw forward), back heel to the player behind him, he stops and waits for the opposition LB to run towards him and for his unmarked teammate on the right to start a run into the box. He waits until LB gets close and passes between the opposition LCB and LB and the player arriving from the right (for Barca it would have been Dani Alves) has an unobstructed shot on goal or pass left for a tap-in (for Messi). Defense dissected.
