Chelsea - pre match thread

That's the US form, isn't it? I've always spelled it gynaecologist with an "a".

It is, but there's form for such things on this side of the puddle as well. Cambridge's languages dept.has been called the Faculty of Modern and Medieval (not "mediaeval") Languages since its inception, the decision - despite the fact that it was centuries ago - being taken on the grounds that it was cheaper to produce degree certificates with the "a" missing.

I'll get my gown.

Mourinho to scatter beanbags on pitch
25-04-14
beanbag

CHELSEA manager José Mourinho will place beanbags and scatter cushions on the pitch for Sunday’s game against Liverpool.

The manager said his team had an important football match coming up and he wants to keep them nice and relaxed with a laid back, Moroccan kind of vibe.

He added: “Competing in Europe against proper teams has exhausted my players so we’re placing scented candles on low tables in the centre circle. And they’ll all be playing Café del Mar compilations on their iPod Shuffles.

“Let’s keep it chilled and, yes, perhaps even a little bit trippy.”

Mourinho denied he is deliberately making the match easy for Liverpool, claiming Fernando Torres can only score a hat-trick after some deep beanbag, a cup of lime blossom tea and a full Reiki.

I don't think Mikel starting is "balls!" worthy. I hope I'm not gonna regret saying.........he's their least effective CM'er.

From the perspective of them parking the bus with a weakened team, I think he would be quite troublesome sat next to Matic infront of a back 4. But in hindsight it is a lot more preferable than someone with any modicum of attacking threat.

I predicted about 4 months ago that we'd win this game with a last minute Sterling goal to make it 2-1, he'll round the keeper and slot home. I'm sticking by this prediction until tomorrow, when I'll start shitting myself and expecting Chelsea to win.

He'll score that goal but it'll be the icing on the cake, not the winner as such - Liverpool 3 (Coutinho, Suarez, Sterling), Chelsea 1 (Lampard).

It's a strange scenario in which they need the win more than us but they'll sit back because; it's all they know how to do, also they know we only know how to attack and also because their only chance of scoring is to hit us on the break. They know that we really don't want a draw because then we lose our "get out of jail free card" which we need for Palace away so they'll play Matic and Mikel in front of a strong defence and try and bore us to death.

We've scored so many early goals this season but we need one on Sunday more than any other game this season because the longer it stay 0-0 the more dangerous Chelsea will become.

I hope we score early because it will force Chelsea to attack and we can exploit the spaces. A draw's no good to Chelsea, unless Mourinho has already given up on the league title.

Like others have said the key is to hit them hard early. Come out full attack to stop their parking bus tactic.

People are forgetting how dire we are at defending set pieces. Add that there's a few players with points to prove, it'll be potentially tricky. A win will take us nearly there. A loss poses all sorts of questions and bags of nerves.

LFC have allowed the most headed goals in the league with 12.

I was reading about Chelsea's transfers fees the other day and was reminded they paid £16 million for Mikel...FFS what a shithouse player for that amount.

He was the wonderkid Chelsea and Utd were battling over for what seemed like ages. Pretty sure £12m of that money went to Utd as profit on their original purchase.

Lets just get on with it and drub them to win the title in style through HARD WORK and DEDICATION.

The CHAMP is here...

Which is why I'm pleased Terry isnt playing. Ivanovic, Matic and Cahill will be a handful if they all play mind.

I have reached the point of prematch excitement already where I am all 'Lets fuck these up'. This is not the recipe for a calm weekend.

Terry would have shat himself. Wish he was playing. We wouldn't sling it into the box at head height all game. He'd have been chasing shadows.

Anyway, fuck them.

Class from BR in the press conference. He's the anti-Maureen.

We've also torn new arseholes for Man Utd, Everton, spurs and Arsenal.
And scored 96 from every fucking angle.

I'm losing the nerves now and getting to the 'let's fuck these revolting cunts up' stage.

COME ON YOU RED MEN!
