So Chelsea have given their players a 4 day break after clinching the title. Will they rest some of their bigger stars?

I would be surprised if Hazard and Fabregas start.

According to Physio Room we have Flanagan, Balotelli, Sturridge and Sakho out. So will we go to a back 3 of Lovren Skrtel and Can with Johnson and Moreno as wingbacks? If Moreno is also out then it may be Johnson on the left with Markovic on the right.

I think he will drop Lallana in favour of a midfield trio of Allen, Henderson and Gerrard with Coutinho and Sterling supporting Lambert.

The only hope we have is that the four days off is a long weekend and they report back on Tuesday.

I can see the scum losing, and us following suit instead of raising our game. Sods law.
I don't think Rodgers knows how to win this one and beat mourinho, so it's one of those where we hopefully keep the score down.

Just for reading/viewing pleasure (or dismay? 😵)

1.31 points per away game in the league doesn't sound too bad to me? Especially when playing for a team that hasn't dominated or even won the league.

Even if Mourinho doesn't play his best team, he's unlikely to go toe to toe with us. He won't want to lose, especially not against Brendan Rodgers, and so could quite happily set up in the low defensive bloc as he's done before.

if the mancs lose tomorrow then this will get very interesting. if they win then i couldn't care less.

We will lose quite easily. Sad as it is even if they play their 2nd string we have zip chance of winning with our team and management as it is right now.

What a glorious way to celebrate a title.

You are right of course. He will do just that and wait for us to make mistakes.

I think he'll give a couple of kids some minutes. Izzy Brown in their U21s looks like an incredible talent, and Dominic Solanke put 3 past our U21s yesterday in their 4-3 win (he has 40 goals in the reserves league this season I think). Loftus-Creek has been on their bench a bit as well yeah? That's how Mourinho will like it, beat us with some kids playing several minutes, and talk about how great he is giving kids chances, how great a team he's building, bringing through the young talents, etc.

He'll play a very strong team. We'll be huffing and puffing and they'll counter attack us and score a few goals from our mistakes.
One will be from GlenJo if he plays. Obviously.

Jose with a really nice tribute to Stevie at the press conference and hinted he might manage us one day!

Stevie really rates him too. Had anyone else been manager there, the idea of Stevie going to Chavski might well not have got as far as it did back then.

I didn't get the sense that he was hinting he might manage us, but he was (not for the first time) very complimentary about LFC as a club. I don't think he hates us, as alleged above. He had his problems with Rafa certainly, but that's a different matter.

Likelihood is that they will want to put on a show to confound the critics who think they are boring and now they can relax from winning the title, we could be in for a painful 90 mins.

There's an outside chance that we will be more motivated than them but I've barely seen that at all this season so can't see it unfortunately.

If we do get stuffed, I think that may be the last straw for me. I've just about run out of excuses for Rodgers and his team and the club in general, we seem to be massively lacking in true ambition, we are making it up as we go along rather than having a genuine plan that works and there's an overall feel of drift about the place.

Anyway..

-------Can---Skrtel---Lovren------
Ibe------------Allen---------Johnson
--Henderson-Coutinho-Sterling--
--------------Lambert----------------

To be quite honest it's getting depressing even having to pick from our squad with injuries to Studge, Sakho and Flanno.

In defence there are few options due to injuries and Rodgers' strange refusal to play Toure, I figure he's doing whatever he can to keep Can playing since he will be part of the team next season and in all likelihood Kolo will be off.

-----------------------Ming-------------------

---Can--------------Skrtel------------Lovren --
Midfield is the only area where we have options with Gerrard and Allen, on the bench for me.
--------------------- Lucas -----------------
I don't want to see Ibe squeezed into RWB which totally emasculates his attacking impetus however Ibe/Coutinho/Sterling are all adept at dropping back, which will give us 6 in midfield as and when required.
Henderson --------------------Johnson

Ibe ----------- Coutinho --------- Sterling

Up front we need someone who can offer some physicality to battle Terry, Ivanovic and Cahill so :-
---------------- Lambert --------------------

The Teams :

Mignolet, Johnson, Lovren, Skrtel, Can, Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Lambert.

Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Filipe Luis; Mikel, Loftus-Cheek; Willian, Fabregas, Hazard; Remy.

Definitely foot off the gas for Chelsea and a glimmer of hope for us.
