If we are at home then I'm keen we put up a decent show and would prefer a win but we have a target this season and I'd prefer we focus 100% on it. The transfer window has shown that finishing lower than fourth is not acceptable if you want to really improve the squad, finance is not enough.

Fourth in the League is absolutely paramount, not in t he slightest interest in anything else, we've been to FA cup and League Cup finals recently enough not to be Arsenal.

Using my ipad so apols for any shitty ios spelling 'corrections'

I won't give this cup a second thought if we keep up our league form. In fact, I'd like to see Rodgers send the kids out with Suarez up top if it meant no injuries to more regular starters. We have a better squad now but a couple of bad injuries and we'd struggle.

No way, send the full team out (most of whom will have had a decent break) and knock Moyes out of his first competition!

We have enough defenders now, but generally I agree, I'd like to see us go for it, but we have enough about us to maybe rest Gerrard, Coutinho and Sturridge. Play Alberto, Sterling and Suarez, with the likes of Hendo, Lucas and Allen fighting it out for the other midfield berths,

I think we should put out the best side to face the mancs.
We just have to keep winning. No european football means way less games anyway, and I'd prefer for us to keep our confidence high, including Suarez, rather than let him face the scum on his own.
I guess it depends on the result of the league game beforehand as well.

I wouldn't argue against it, if anything I'm taking into consideration Sturridge's injury issues and Coutinho's form. They both need a rest here and there.

I think Moyes will probably be looking to restore some pride with this game so we can't field too weak a team particularly given the fact that we'll be at Old Trafford.

We might be able to rest Sturridge if he needs it given that Suarez will be back but I'd look to avoid giving guys like Alberto a baptism of fire and put out the strongest team we can.

We've got a home game beforehand, which might give us a bit of an opportunity to sub players off if it's going well and the dates are pretty kind in terms of recuperation times (Sat - Wed - Sun).

We should send out a weakened, but extremely defensive team out there. Drag it to penalties. I rather Moyes did okay in the cup and keep his job... And tire out his team. Nothing more demoralising than struggling to break down a reserve side. I also can do without the inevitable (and negative ) attention that will surround Suarez 's return.

We'll get a clearer picture of our intentions in the competition after the Southampton game. As much as I love for us to muller them in their own backyard on route to winning the cup in a blaze of glory, if suspensions, fitness and injuries mount and thin the squad, our priority has to lie with the league.

This season, every game feels like a cup final to me, and even though I'm anticipating this clash, my eye (and hopes) is on Swansea away, the next monumentally huge match.

Yup. Let's be honest
League Cups are for years when we can't win shit in the things that matter.

right now we are top of the table I want to WIN EVERY LEAGUE MATCH. everything else can go to hell.
