Can Suso help the team right now as Raheem has done?

From what I have seen of Suso I think he could be just as useful to the team as Raheem has been, but what the hell do I know. I'm still surprised he hasn't at least featured on the bench.

It's not such an easy position to shine in at that stage. Raheem was always going to be able to take on players and make some eye-catching runs. Suso is a string puller. He needs to build up an understanding with the front players and work with them.

yeah im not really sure why he's not getting more game time, by all reports though he's just on the fringe of the first team squad. Maybe the club think he needs to fill out a bit? I think thats why raheems started getting more game time, he's certainly got much better core strength than this time last year

I don't think they have discovered a position for him to play.

His long range passing is better suited to playing as a deep lying midfielder but he doesn't have the strength or tackling. His dribbling and play making is suited to playing on the wing, but he doesn't have the strength and he drifts inside too much (you also lose out on his long range passing). I think they have been waiting for him to fill out, and for it to become obvious where to play him. Playing behind the striker is another option, but again you lose his long range passing and he drifts out of the game sometimes. His talents are obvious though...

He will do well to learn from Allen and become his understudy.

As for doing a job right now like Raheem has, I don't see it. Yesil on the other hand...

Good point.
But in fairness the only way he can build a partnership is by getting more game time.
He can surely have more of a impact from the bench rather than Downing.

Lets not get carried away here. The boy is talented but he's pretty far away from making an impact for the first team for the time being.

I think Suso can make an impact this season. Is his tackling any worse than Shelvey's? As for position, I think the Iniesta comparison is a good one.

I think he's the best youth player I've seen play for us in the past 10 years.

As others have said, at his best he oozes class, so I have my fingers crossed he'll impress when he gets a chance.

I think it's more about his position. Our midfield isn't as solid these days as it was when we could afford someone like Yossi playing in the hole position (which he only did flittingly anyway), so to accomodate him in the role behind the strikers is a tall ask, especially given the competition. Ideally he'd play deeper but that's near impossible with our lack of strength in there as it is.

I think Sterling's pace has allowed him to make such a big impact. He's the only player we have in that final third with blistering pace, which makes such a difference for us.

I think that's only half of it and probably does him a disservice. His touch takes players out the game and gives him the extra yard straight away and then there's his awareness. He's not erratic like your typical winger, especially for his age, he's always looking, always knows where his team mates are and knows when to hold up the play, when to play people in and when to take people on. He's quality.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think his pace is the be all and end all, but it plays a massive part in the effectiveness of a forward. Without it, you need to be really really technically good. Suso has got ability but whether it's enough at this stage to make a similar impact as Sterling (given that hes not got that pace) I'm not sure.

We should play him though. As Sterling has shown, these youngsters need all the experience they can get and his performance against Sunderland was far different from previous, as he's started taking more risks in the final third.

Definitely mate, and I think with his technical ability, he could really make a difference for us. We've got alot of brawn in midfield but not much in the way of craft.

He is indeed. Based on his play versus Toronto I thought he was some distance from being ready for the first team however I couldn't have been more wrong.

I just don't see it. At least, not yet.
Admittedly I've seen little of him but even when I saw him live versus Roma at Fenway over the summer he was completely unremarkable.
