suarez seems to be playing wide on the right and then sometimes switching with sturridge . As a result they're getting semi decent joy down that side, kelly is being left exposed.
 
A while ago they cleared the ball, Kelly picked it up about 15 yards inside their half and Skrtel was pointing back at our keeper. Thankfully he ignored him. That obsession with going back under zero pressure drives me crazy.
 
Oh well, a potato patch of a pitch and the wind against us, so not good conditions, but all the same, not enough THINKING going on out there. Yet again we're not looking like a side that is supposed to love possession.
 
Not playing well at all but leading 1-0. The size of the gaps on the flanks and between the attackers and midfield in the central area is alarming. Must improve.
 
0-1 and could easily be 0-3 but for two horrible off-side decisions. It's a cup tie, we expect even a non-league side to go hell for leather for the first 20 mins, however now it's settled down it looks to me like it's more a question of how many rather than what the result (WDL) will be.

Not sure how you draw that conclusion. I'm seeing someone who has actually reached the final third of the opponents' half in 45 minutes more times than Johnson has done for a month perhaps. I think he's been horribly exposed by whoever's playing in front of him (be it Sturridge or Suarez switching over) time and time again. The number of times he's had to defend one against two is crazy.

I suspect he has been told to tuck in and not get too far forward. With Cissoko unable to defend, Toure spends most of his time out left covering and Kelly is dropping in. I think he is defending reasonably well considering he is often isolated with two to cover. Gerrard is very slow to help cover.

For much of that half we got bugger all from Probert. Things evened out a bit as half-time got closer. Here's hoping they stay that way.

I agree. Kelly has often been left isolated in 2 v 1 situations.
