Bobby Firmino

Not even February, and we've 19 goals out of our number 9.

Fuck all the haters. He's an absolute cracker.
And 19 league goals from our Egyptian winger

Mane needs to pull his finger out, clearly

I don't think there are any haters left.

I've made my position clear, I wanted a striker instead cos he didn't score enough & I thought Coutinho, Salah & Mane behind a proper striker with a high workrate would be better.

Firmino is now that damn good at all aspects of his game that I can't imagine this side working without him. Which is good & bad for obv reasons.

We were in need of a big goalscorer last season, and we went and got one. Firmino, in turn been brilliant and has continued prove how indispensable he is to the way we play, while now scoring more and more goals.

Like we said last week or whenever it was that a similar sort of post came up, previously he wasn't scoring enough and we needed a big goalscorer to take that burden and focus off him. Now we've improved on both of those issues, so no one can have any complaints, but to pretend there weren't valid concerns previously is daft. He was crucial to us, but we needed more from him and a reliable goalscorer too.

Still doesn't take away from the fact we need another top class forward to provide competition and back-up.

There's so much riding on Bobby staying fit until the end of the season.

Roberto Firmino has a goal or an assist every 90 minutes across all competitions so far this season.

That's insane.

Im glad we sent Sturridge out on loan.

Whenever we did play Sturridge - it resulted in Firmino playing out on the left or right where he would be anonymous ... and we with Sturridge up top we lost our pressing game.

Our attack was completely unbalanced.

He has stepped up his overall game including goals this season.

We will need a player capable of stepping in when he needs a rest/gets injured/suspended for taking his shirt off/loses form.

He spent a not insignificant amount of time on the right with Salah in the middle during last nights match, and was not anonymous

He's developing into a very Suarezlike striker in all honesty. That finish yesterday was something you'd expect Suarez to do.

Will we get another post when he hits 20 goals.

I hope so.

Like I said in the match thread, it's great that Klopp brought in Salah, who is the 20 goal a season player everyone knew we needed (but seems rather oddly less lauded than Firmino, despite scoring as many goals so far in his first season as Firmino managed in total in his first two seasons) - and perhaps Salah's presence and 19 league goals so far have lifted the pressure off Firmino; having that additional goal threat and pace in the side has created more space and time for him too.

Whatever the reason for this remarkable improvement in his finishing and much more acceptable amount of goals scored, I hope it continues. It's been great to watch and he's already scored as many league goals this season as he managed in total last season. Although that total was only 11, so that's not a hard target to beat.

We still need to buy another striker.

20 goals overall, 15 league goals, and if he gets 20 league goals we’re going to open a sub-forum dedicated to him.
If he gets 20 league goals we'll be fighting to keep him & Salah this summer.

I bet klopp moves heaven & earth to try to keep Firmino though.

Firmino offers more to the team than Salah does though imo.
