I think we'll win today, we'll turn it on and Gerrard and Torres will have a good game. I know we've been playing shit but the rot has to stop sometime and hopefully a few of the first team lads will have taken note of the performances of the likes of Shelvey and Spearing midweek. After that performance and the dismall showing of many of our internationals of late, I think those two lads can feel hard done by having to sit in the stands watching mediocre, overpaid players look bereft of desire or any real quality.

Like this ^

We need win.

Definitely. No Samba anyway which is a plus, defensively and offensively, hopefully we'll turn it on today. We need a reaction after last week and as said, the 'hungry' performances of a few of the lads against Napoli.

Some of the players should be fucking ashamed of themselves this season.

Yep, thankfully Gerrard isn't one of them though, I hope he puts a rocket up a few players today like a 'proper' captain.

I'm normally confident going into to ANY game, but Blackburn at home and my bottle has gone says a lot about the state of the team and Hodgson in particular at the moment. If we win it'll grant Roy a reprieve and nobody wants that!
But we've got to start performing at some point, so I'm hoping (as opposed to expecting) today will be it.

2-0.

Have you been sipping Hodgson's fine malt?

Well, we gotta win at some point. It might as well be today.

A win by 5 goals or more and we reach the lofty heights of 16th!!

Blackburn fan Neil Matthews provides the view from Ewood Park ahead of today's must-win contest.

How are Blackburn fans feeling about their trip to Anfield?

Could this be the game where Liverpool give a team a real hammering? It's happened in the past where a team has been in poor form, and then turned things around in one game. Personally I'm hoping for a 0-0 draw.

What did you make of Danny Murphy's comments about Blackburn's ethos?

Rubbish. Why would a manager tell his players to make bad challenges and risk that player getting sent off? It's down to the individual player, and that's the way it's always been in football.

How is your gaffer doing?

As long as we maintain our Premier League status, then Sam Allardyce is doing a good job. None of the fans are keen on his long-ball tactics, though. I feel we could score more goals keeping the ball on the deck.

How will he play it at Anfield?

As always, tight at the back, boot the ball up front, try and score a goal from a set-piece.

Which players should we be worried about?

Diouf. As an ex-Liverpool player I'm sure he will be up for this one. He has improved this season and has found the net on occasions.

Anyone need a kick up the backside?

I'd have to say Nzonzi. I thought he was excellent last season but so far this season he has been poor.

If you could have three Liverpool players at Blackburn, who would you take?

Gerrard, Reina and Torres.

If you were putting a tenner on it?

I'd bet on a 0-0 draw.

---------------------

This is going to be the worst game of football of all time, and I think we'll lose or draw.

Well, if we win today it would be nice if it were by at least three goals otherwise we will remain in the relegation zone.

Aaah..There is the flaw in your logic. With Hodgson, that statement is not true.

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres return for Liverpool for this afternoon's clash with Blackburn, a game you can listen to live online from 2.55pm BST.

Roy Hodgson has made eight changes from the team that started against Napoli on Thursday.

The team in full is: Reina, Aurelio, Carragher. Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Lucas, Meireles, Maxi, Cole, Gerrard, Torres. Subs: Jones, Jovanovic, Babel, Ngog, Poulsen, Shelvey, Kelly.

Hope Shelvey comes on for Lucas at some point.
Knowing Hodgson, probably the 83rd minute. Will that do?

We'll win this if Shelvey comes on for Lucas before the 60th minute. We'll lose 2-1 otherwise.

Carra and Maxi eh?

This is gonna be hard to watch.
Ha, I'm not sure which is worse, having to watch the slowest right sided partnership of all time, or casting your eyes over to the left, where they're both anonymous and injury prone.

NESV owner John W Henry, who has not travelled to the UK due to illness: "Sunday promises to be a special day at Anfield in more ways than one. I'll be watching the game from home and although I have only been here for a few days, I already miss Anfield. We are hard at work setting a course for the future including the search for a chief executive officer. I wish the club and the fans all the best for the match against Blackburn."
