That makes me extremely happy

That's the level of urgency I expect us to be showing in pushing this deal through, bye Andy thank fk for that.

Oh well, good luck Andy. Perhaps he's been a bit of an unprofessional type, going on the piss, or maybe it's just been more publicised because of his minor reputation, whatevers. There's clearly a good centre forward in there who at his best can be unplayable, but maybe doesn't suit a one touch, quick movement game. He'll serve them well, might still make a big career of it yet, and will probably destroy us at some point to prove a point.

It's not his fault we paid the money, I bet he wishes it never happened, at least in terms of his career ultimately going backwards, but anyway. I wish him well.

😉

If that Joe Kinnear bloke who opens doors to all managers hijacks the move with a 25m bid, I promise I'll never poke fun at him for the rest of his career.

The dumbcunt would get this name wrong and end up re-signing Andy Cole.

Andy Carroll is expected to have a medical tonight as West Ham prepare to tie up his move in a deal which could cost them £46million.

Amid late interest from Newcastle, the striker flew back from a holiday in the United States last night to agree a contract with West Ham reported to be £100,000 a week for six years.

The Hammers had already agreed a club record £15m fee with Liverpool, who have taken a big loss on the deal after paying Newcastle a British record £35m for the striker just two and a half years ago.

In view of his previous injury problems, Carroll was due to undergo an extensive medical and the deal could be finalised as early as tomorrow.

Should the 24-year-old see out his contract then he will cost the club £31m in wages but West Ham have decided to make that commitment after his impressive season on loan, scoring seven goals in 25 Premier League appearances.

Manager Sam Allardyce made signing Carroll permanently his priority during the close season and will be delighted the deal is close to being finalised after extensive talks.

Allardyce wants at least one more striker following the departure of Carlton Cole and has been linked with Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor.

In view of the finance involved in the Carroll transfer, though, it is thought likely the Upton Park club would only be interested in a loan deal for Adebayor.

West Ham are expected to sign Stockport midfielder Danny Whitehead after the teenager impressed on trial last season while striker Robert Hall is wanted by Bolton and Nottingham Forest.

Given the financial benefits and how highly West Ham and Sam Allardyce seem to rate him, he would be silly not to grab the golden opportunity.

I thought West Ham medicals consisted merely of David Gold checking that the player gets a hard on watching porn films and David Sullivan making sure the player doesn't dose off whilst he recounts his days working with Mary Millington.

Andy Carroll finally looks set to become a Hammer after agreeing a long-term deal.
The 24-year-old striiker, who spent last season on loan at the Boleyn Ground is expected to rubber-stamp a permanent move after a medical, which is scheduled to take place within the next 24 hours, is completed.

Carroll, who remains Britain's most expensive player after Liverpool paid Newcastle United £35million for his services two years ago returned from an end-of-season holiday in the United States last night and is expected to complete his move to West Ham within the next few days.

West Ham's co-chairman David Gold, speaking via his Twitter account last night said: "The Andy Carroll deal is important to us and equally important to Andy. We must dot every 'i' and cross every 't'; we must be patient."

West Ham are understood to have agreed a fee worth around £15million for the England striker, who will earn between £80,000 and £100,000 per week. That figure dwarfs United's previous transfer record fee of £10.75million, paid to Wolves for Matt Jarvis last summer.

News of Carroll's impending arrival has been mostly met with approval from the club's supporters, many of whom have been posting on the KUMB Forum this morning.

We're complete and utter fuckwits aren't we?

35 fucking million

@jsullivanwhu: Subject to medical Andy Carroll is now a WHU player, 6 year contract. £15.5m plus £2m of extras.
Fingers crossed he medicals fine. #coyi

Potentially 17.5m. Plus the loan fee of £1-2m loan fee last season, its not a bad amount recouped.
