Andy Carroll transfer decision due this week as striker returns from holiday to answer West Ham's offer

Sam Allardyce revealed last night that Andy Carroll is just days away from giving his answer on a £100,000-a-week permanent move to West Ham, writes the Sunday People's Steve Bates .
Hammers boss Allardyce, currently on holiday at his Spanish villa, expects the on-loan Liverpool striker to rubber-stamp a £15million six-year deal when he returns from his own sunshine break in Florida this week.
Speaking from his bolt-hole in Spain, Allardyce confirmed that all the elements of the switch are in place and Carroll’s decision is imminent.
Big Sam said: “We are both out of the country but most of the negotiations are done and the financial agreement between us and Liverpool is in place.

“It’s about communicating with Andy and his agent between London, here in Spain where I am and Florida where Andy is.
“I’ve no real need to speak to him over his decision. I’ve spoken to him enough times so he knows what I think and it’s up to him.
“He’s back in the next few days so we should have a definitive answer by the end of next week.”
The Hammers will smash their wage structure to land the 24-year-old, who was signed from Newcastle for £35m by Liverpool.
It is also believed the Merseysiders will give Carroll a £2m “golden goodbye” pay-off as he did not ask to leave Anfield.

Are there official rules for players when sold ? What % of transfer fee do they get if any ? So will he get 2m from us and then extra money from the sale price . We've made an average footballer extremely rich but i guess that's what we're good at .

That cunt is a financial black hole, we wasted millions signing him, millions paying him, and now we have to waste millions to get rid of him

Only in football could you be hired to do a job at an extortionate rate of pay, be so shite at it that your employer wants rid of you and then you can demand a 10% wage increase and a massive bonus just to leave a job your not good enough for

Ever heard of corporate executives?

Yes and they usually have all sorts of severance clauses too but they don't usually get a 10% pay increase when they are being fucked out of a company though

We are not giving him that pay increase though. It seems mad that West Ham are willing to pay those kind of wages for Carroll - if the rumours are in fact true - but I guess the fact remains that whilst he may not be right for us he could yet prove to be right for them.

Rarely (I actually know of none) do you see the company receiving $20m compensation packages for the shite exec moving to the other company though.

Cockney maths.

100K per week = 15million for 6 years 😕

Maybe they factored in that he will hand back 50% of his wages as fines for drink related offenses

You also don't see companies pay 35 million to hire them in the first place, the transfer fee wasnt the point I was making. It was that I cant think of any other profession where you would reasonably expect to get a 10-20% pay increase on an already huge wage and a massive pay off as a result of being deemed not good enough by your employer.

Commoli and Kenny should be hiding in a cave for this deal

Yup.

As if the 35 million quid on this scoper wasn't enough, they compounded it by spending another 20 million on Downing so they could fulfill the 1970's football illusion of a winger getting to the byline and crossing it onto the big striker's head.

Fucking Dave Beasant caveman style football thinking.

For 55 million quid.

It almost makes me feel bad for fsg. Hopefully BR's jan window will help renew their faith.

Kenny did such a great job that jan-June on the field

How could these grown men think those were solid purchases - stu, Adam, hendo, Andy,

Anyone remember this?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ndy-Carroll-pockets-150k-bonus-Liverpool.html

Andy Carroll will pick up a staggering £150,000 loyalty bonus from Liverpool next month despite making only 13 starts since his £35million move from Newcastle.

Carroll negotiated the windfall, which will be paid in each year of his contract at Anfield, when he signed last January.

13 starts? Is that all? Jesus fucking christ.
No transfer in any sport worldwide will beat this one.
Disaster.

I wonder how this loyalty bonus thing works. We're read about how players waive it off to push through moves (or as sign of gratitude to current club) or clubs haggle over it (thus delaying transfers) etc. It makes a mockery of the word 'loyalty' at times though.

Well done for starting yet another superfluous thread on this deadly dull topic. It's not his fault that he was signed for too much. He's behaved far better than Suarez and actually wanted to play for the club yet every ounce of cynicism and bile is sent his way whilst Suarez gets every excuse. It was up to FSG to sanction the deal, concentrate on them if you want to waste your time and scream into the void.

Let's start another thread on this topic, there's not anywhere near enough cheap self-righteous indignation expressed so far. We need, at the very least, a thread to show how incredibly modernist we are in terms of formations and tactics (give these deluded smart arses a job, pronto!), another to show how how on-message we are, another to show how anti-Allardyce we are, another for Binny to cut and paste pathetic manc anti-LFC jokes on, and another to show we haven't got anything else to talk about. Andy Carroll, the anti-christ that keeps on bleeding.

Oh well, good luck Andy. Perhaps he's been a bit of an unprofessional type, going on the piss, or maybe it's just been more publicised because of his minor reputation, whatevers. There's clearly a good centre forward in there who at his best can be unplayable, but maybe doesn't suit a one touch, quick movement game. He'll serve them well, might still make a big career of it yet, and will probably destroy us at some point to prove a point.

It's not his fault we paid the money, I bet he wishes it never happened, at least in terms of his career ultimately going backwards, but anyway. I wish him well.
