Davids, Seedorf, Litmanen, Rijkaard, Overmars.

Hurts me to say it but some of the United midfields over the last 20 years were very good.

Wim Van Hanegem? Completely forgot about him from the '74 line up! Had to google it in the end as it was driving me crazy.......here are the '74 and '78 line ups.

Cheers Cloggy, I reckon I'll give that a go.

My first vivid memory of a world cup was '74 and by '78 I was quite the addict and the Dutch "total football" had a huge influence on me. They were the best team at both those world cups and were hugely unlucky to lose to the host nation each time.
