Create enough and he'll score. Him and Studge up top with Coutinho behind, together with Hendo's energy in the midfield and we'll improve. He's looking worthy of the fee even without the right support.
He needs to tuck away the relatively straightforward ones. The chance against Arsenal was maybe too quick and Cech did well, but yesterday (admittedly slightly offside) he seemed to lack conviction and hit it wide. Great goal yesterday but we need to deliver the ball into the area much better for him, many times in a game, and he's got to finish them. I find him really hard to read as a player - you can tell whether some players are 'up' or 'down' but he's a pretty inscrutable character - so I just hope he's talking to his teammates and Rodgers about what he needs and where he most wants to play. He's been called a beast and he needs to play like one.
He's been superb, I was completely against his signing, but just like Leo, I'm delighted now. What Macca says is a slight concern, you'd like to see him looking a little more clinical, however I think this has been exacerbated but the dire approach to games Rodgers currently has us taking. If we started playing attacking football again, Benteke would get more chances, and would score more goals, so that those misses would become irrelevant, unfortunately the way he's setting us up at the moment means we have to take every single chance, and clearly that's not Benteke's strong point.
It wouldn't be any striker's really. They all miss some - even Suarez missed lots to begin with, though his general play was always excellent.
On Benteke specifically, count me in as another Red who wasn't convinced by the signing but has been pleasantly surprised. So far this season I've voted him MOTM in two of Morse's threads. We actually had a pretty good summer window IMO. It's just a shame we're p!$$ing it all away.

Calling him superb is going a little overboard. I have no major complaints though. He's a striker with some obvious qualities - great presence, power, and shooting ability. And works reasonably hard as well. Used right, he'll get happily get you 15-20 a season, and that'll be great for all of us.
But continue to use him as a back-to-the-goal pivot, and you'll never build a coherent attack. This isn't Aston Villa and he isn't our best player.

Before that happens we need to give him some support. It's been diabolical at times. Yesterday Firmino and Ings were WBs (to the detriment of their games too) and often Benteke had 15-20m to the next Liverpool player behind him and absolutely no chance of anyone running past him onto knock-downs. Even Skrtel & Mignolet's kicking was atrocious, often missing him by 10-15m, you could see Benteke thinking WTF am I that small a target ?
He has surprised me but unfortunately i have been affected by the brilliance and efforts of suarez to such an extent that i wish suarez never played for us. When i see any of our strikers waiting for the ball and not harassing defenders constantly be it benteke or any of our players i am just thinking what a fucking lazy cunt. No player should just stand around now - they need to be on the move constantly to make a difference. I fear that uniteds new signing will be their suarez.
