Benteke Versus Balotelli

Each have their strengths but Benteke obviously costs us 2X Balotelli but are they so different?

Not much in it, in fact overall I will say Balo shades it.

First game of the season and you could tell that most of the players were trying to get Benteke into the game, looking for him and such. He was kinda meh in the end but general good vibes from most about him for his first match.

Balotelli in contrast was never offered any such "charity" right from the start. In fact the players seemed to not want to pass to him unless necessary. He had to fight (well he tried initially) and ended up shooting on sight because he just had no rapport with anyone. He was universally panned as a flop, not forgetting being the villian in that penalty. Nobody at the club really *tried* to accept him. Now he doesn't even appear on the bench.

Was Balotelli given the short end of the stick?

Balotelli is clearly the better player, and he can do verything Benteke can do and more....but only one of them seems to want to play football. Balotelli's attitude is not something we can afford to have around when we are building up...

It wont be too long before team morale and spirit gets affected when you have a twat like Balotelli going walkabout when the whole team is under pressure from media and fans..

But every game I've seen him play before that has either shown him to be so ineffectual it hurts, or very effective but utterly alien to Rodgers' style of play, no matter what the porcelain-toothed windbag claims today.
