Not appreciated. You'd avoid it for other religious figures and I'd be grateful if the same consideration could be applied to Stewianity
Benitez disappears into the tunnel after the final whistle is blown. I've never seen that before from a manager who just took his team to a cup final. He absolutely hates Chelsea.
that too(or their fans!)
Wow. Two managers who won us trophies, bought us fantastic players and gave us some incredible memories are regarded as shit? Just wow. Houllier changed the whole ethos of the club and finally dragged us into the modern era. Benitez turned us into the most feared team in Europe.Yeah, but you have to account for how much money they each made back on their shit signings, obv.
I didn't call him a coward. Can you not keep referring to things I didn't say?
Personally I don't want Liverpool playing like we did (twice) at the Nou Camp under Houllier. I don't like it, and tbh I don't think it's right for a club of our size. Football isn't *just* about results by any means for me - there has to be a certain pride and courage in how you approach a game. Fine if you're ok with it, it's just my opinion.
It was a master class is how to play an away league in Europe. I suggest you get some copies of our dour 0-0 or narrow away wins in Europe under Shanks and Paisley. This idea we played with panache and flair through our glory years is untrue. Yes, the 88 team did. Yes, we had a couple of teams in the 60's and 70's that did. But what we mostly did was be more effctive than the opposition. United this season are the same.
What idea? I never said that.
Fact is I don't like us playing like a cowering conference side on FA Cup 3rd round day, and I seriously doubt we ever did that during the 70s and 80s. I'm fully aware that we were very pragmatic, I just think you can be that without camping the entire game in your half. I am, after all, a staunch defender of Benitez!
Ferguson believes the Blues are benefiting from a more harmonious atmosphere in the stands, yet could not resist a sly dig at arch-rival Benitez when asked about the Spaniard's achievement in adding another European final to his collection.
"He is very concerned about his CV," Ferguson said. "He refers to it quite a lot.
"But you can't dispute the fact he has done a good job in the last few weeks.
"The key to it is that the fans have settled down a little bit. They have left him alone and he has got on with managing his job.
"It can't be easy, listening to pressure from the fans all the time.
"They have eased up. It has allowed him to relax and they have produced some good results.
"When they sacked Roberto Di Matteo that maybe knocked them back a bit.
"It took them a long time to get going again.
"It's only been in the last few weeks that they've got any consistency and this has been the best part of their season."
Chelsea cannot take anything for granted just yet, as they remain just three points ahead of Tottenham - who they face on Wednesday - in the battle to secure a Champions League berth for next season.
"Their next two games are crucial," added Ferguson.
"I would imagine they'd be thinking they need to get something out of our game because Spurs is never an easy game.
"They will be fresh and Chelsea will have played Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday."
What about Houllier, not being able to hold a 3-1 lead in the UEFA cup final or being outplayed in FA cup final or being extremely lucky in the league cup final, considering that Birmingham should had a penalty in extra time.
Just trying to counter all the Rafa bollox about him being lucky to win the CL and that we would have won it despite of him.Hold on? Did we win all 3 of those games in the end? I'm sure I saw the trophies in the cabinet?
If that's your response, what about this?
What about Rafa letting us go 3 behind in 2005 final?
Come on Modo, use the rational gene 🙂

Do I take it then that most people on this site either love Rafa or Ged but not both?
Odd. Both were great apart from their respective last seasons. I'd love to meet either/both and shake their hand.
I have much respect for both of them. They were the right managers at the right time for us.
I actually think both brought us significantly forward, and then both brought us significantly backwards again.
