Bingo. This is not champ manager where you sell ageing players. In a 'normal' season selling him would make sense. BUt we have lost REINA, CARRA, SUAREZ, and it is unclear who we will replace him with. We have to take the financial loss of not selling him as keeping him will make us stronger.

It is inconsistent. You want you best players to be loyal, and you don't care so much about the rest. The problem is that usually it's your best players that will want to move, and your rubbish ones that want to stay. I'm not including Agger in the rubbish bracket, it's more Downing and the likes who would obviously want to stay forever.

I think a slightly different stand point. I've given up caring about loyalty, and expecting players to care about this club more than others. I'd sell pretty much anyone given that we got an above market value price for them. If we got more than 20m for Agger, we could get a younger player who's equally as good, anything below 20m and I wouldn't be so keen on the idea.
