It's him or Bellingham

I've never seen this kid so Bellingham for me

I would imagine he would keep Thiago regardless, probably taking up Milner’s position albeit a lot less fitter one. Feels like Thiago was probably pretty much an all on Klopp signing and not sure he he’s likely to give up on him yet despite his injury record over the last few years.
I can’t see us signing two midfielders though, seems a very unlike Klopp/FSG thing to do as we tend to buy a single major player under 25 in any given area once a year.

Yeah, it's would be very un-FSG like to sign 2 midfielders in one window, but we do seem to require a lot of new blood there and a serious overhaul. Milner had to play way too often this season and is almost certainly gone or retiring, Keita – they will either need to offer him a new deal or sell and wouldn't be surprised if he's used as the makeweight for the Bellingham deal, Ox is probably gone, Morton would benefit from a year on loan somewhere, Jones will drop down to 5th or 6th choice and might push for more playing time elsewhere... I honestly think we do need 2 new central midfielders, but considering how much Bellingham will cost, the 2nd one will probably be on the cheaper side.

Diaz puts us at our limit of 17 reasonable non-homegrown players (with Karius getting de-registered) - so each new non-homegrown player coming in means one leaving.

Adrian might leave, but that probably means we could probably use a veteran 3rd choice similar type replacement - not sure any of the kids are quite ready for that yet.

Minamino & Origi likely to be moved on - I’d probably want another forward in then.

If Milner retires, it does mean we have an opening for 2 midfielders as I think we’re one short at the minute.

If Phillips goes too - that’s why I think Ox is staying - we’re already 1 down in homegrown quota - we’re not losing 2+ more and moving on 2+ more overseas players to bring in 2 new ones.

Those Neco rumours have been around for a while - so we might need a new reserve RB too.

Id be looking closely at any credible links to homegrown players over the age of 21 that come up in the next 6 months.

I‘d be fine with that even if we signed nobody instead.

The gaps they‘d leave would replace them perfectly.

Thiago will stay at least one more season for sure. But we might have quite a clear-out in the summer; I could see any one of Keita, Jones, Ox, Milner, Firmino, Minamino, Origi and Gomez leaving.

Milner's contract ends this summer. Keita, Ox, Salah, Mane, Firmino - their contracts end in the summer of 2023. I will be surprised if Firmino, Ox, Keita are offered a contract extension on a higher salary than they are now. And I will be surprised if they are willing to accept a lower salary. I am expecting a clear-out this summer. Add to that, Taki and Origi.

Too many English quota players leaving there. Only 2 on those english players will leave. Gomez and Milner. Ox will leave on a free after next season.
