Looking at the likes of RAWK, I`m shocked by the negativety towards the owners, the decison was taken to sack Kenny which I don`t agree with but I don`t understand the fans on RAWK losing their heads. Henry and Co deserves some patience to allow them to implement their vision of the club.
For me we seem to have a large group of supporters unable or unwilling to accept that football has changed and if the club don`t adapt now it could become a relic...Supporters of the club are throw into the same bracket now, whiny and stuck in a 70/80`s time warp....
We may lose some of our soul to move forward but football is a soulless beast now and if some fans want to see us maintaining ways of work that havent worked for 20 years, they shouldnt also be demanding titles and European Cups..Henry and Co were straight from the start, the revenue generated by the club would be pumped back into the team, that is why the focussed on the top 4, the CL is only show in town now.
I really hope some of our fanbase wake up to the new reality of football now. My worry is that our owners will start thinking the club have a toxic set of supporters and decide the club isn`t really worth the hassle.
You can see it with how some fans on the likes of RAWK moan about OOT`s, these type of guys want a return to the days of hearing only locals on the Kop and having someone piss on their trouser legs.
As a club we need to respect our history but now is the time to wake up and accept the new reality of football. If we do that maybe someday we will talk about having won 25 league titles and 8 European Cups.
For too long this club has let other clubs race ahead off and on the pitch and I bet our owners were shocked at the state of the club when the looked inside. For change to really happen within any organisation it has to be embraced by all the stakeholders and we as supporters need to support this long overdue overhaul of the club.
Call me what you want but I believe our owners want the club to be successful.
