Anyone going to Kiev...

Yes, I agree. Would be even better without Portillo tagging along.
I quite like the ol' duffer (much more than I did when he was a politician).

My mum was diagnosed with a terminal illness a few years back and came to stay with me for a few months before going to a hospice; we didn't exactly have the same taste in TV programmes, she wanted to watch Miss Marple, re-runs of Last Of The Summer Wine and anything with Alan Titchmarsh whereas I was more Breaking Bad, Footie and BBC4 documentaries. She loved the Portillo train journeys and reluctantly I watched them with her but actually really enjoyed watching them and still do to this day.

Yeah, heard the first few thousand on the list will get a ticket. Dunno how. But here we are. Emails going out now.

Few Thousand, was that just a figure of speech or some inside knowledge - being 2149 in waiting list it is important.

My son's mate said. I'm not saying he's a credible witness, but he knew prior to this first resale that it would be announced etc, so don't abandon hope yet. He's very connected in town so you never know.

That train journeys programme wit Michael Portillo is on right now and starting in Kyiv. Portillo can "remember enough Russian from his schooldays to get by."

Your schoolboy Russian lessons are going to finally come in handy lads.

в конце концов!!!!

No he hasn't. He rang me up asking for fancard and passport details of anyone who hasn't already got one that I knew of as he was at checkout, so I whatsapped him it, but he's just called to say he got bummed at the last minute as not qualifying. So we'll wait...

I'm sorted. Block 44, upper tier...cornerflag-ish.

I got block 53. Row 4. I am the seat RIGHT NEXT TO THE TUNNEL. I'll close enough to hurl allsorts of abuse at Ronaldo and the main one, Ramos.

Keep an eye out for me. I'll be wearing Red.

You lucky, lucky bastard.

The old 'farm in the countryside' ruse when a dog has been taken to the vets for a long sleep.
My parents are still spinning that tale with regards to our first dog. It went to live on a farm that some student of my dad's grew up on.

A likely story!

Your Paper Pete doppelganger will be thrust into the ceiling of the Death Row Diner each time you appear I have no doubt.

Or was that something will be thrust into him?

One of the two.

Keep it clean lads, I want him back in one piece.

Is someone actually gonna take him home or is he just getting ditched at the end of the night?

Did I tell the tortoise story on here yet?

One of the kids in Luke's school got a tortoise for Christmas. I know, shite present, but it's what he wanted.

The family dog tried to play with it & bit clean through its shell & the softer underneath.

The dad took it to the vets where they said they could possibly save it but it'd cost a buy a grand to do so.

So the lads dad returns home & tells the lad that the vets couldn't save the tortoises shell & they had to put a new & slightly different shell on it, having had the old put down & gone straight to buy another one which had very different markings on its shell.

I think it depends what kind of state he's in.

If we win he may well end up crowd surfing in concert square & then on the roof of mccooleys.

There'll be videos of course.

Very clever. Although the dog's probably going to kill this one too

Sorry to hear that mate, but good on you sharing Portillo and the rest with her.

I watched the second part tonight. Odessa looks amazing. I'm not into Opera but that opera house is one of the most amazing theatrical spaces I've ever seen.
