Agger

I would agree with those who say that Agger is worth hanging onto. He can be a class act when fit and available and seemingly injury prone players who are still fairly young can improve.

Remember Steven Gerrard always used to pick up injuries when he was younger

What are the details of the back operation ?

What part are they operating on exactly ?

your new field of expertise? accounts and back injuries.

I was told that young fit men like me and Danny Agger have bad outcomes long term by having operations on disc problems. I was wondering if it was a disc problem.

Agger's a more stylish mover with the ball and more of an attacking threat (so far), but defending is still a CB's first priority and Agger's done nothing in a Liverpool shirt to suggest he's any better than Skrtel at it. If anything the opposite is true.

He's more adept at not charging around face-first and getting caught out of position.

sorry to hear about your back, btw. what has caused it?

just an accumulation of different injuries rather than anyone thing.

It was worth a week off work

More a warning than a sound prognosis

haha ... surprisingly no, they haven't.

United have ferdinand out for a couple months aswell..

More of a loss to them than agger to us imo. Still livid with Aggers injury situation though.

Yup.

All sports for now. Rugby for good.

I'd agree with that. Agger has a shot and a decent pass on him but he's way off the mark in terms of the best (actual) defenders around.

Granted, he is young, and will improve. Although, not at this rate he won't.

Agger's defending is certainly no worse than Skrtel's, just less noticeable.

He may get out muscled on occasion but his positioning and composure is far higher than his team-mates, and his attacking abilities have never been prioritised by himself, nor Rafa - it's simply an added bonus.

I also think Carragher's more relaxed when Agger's alongside. But these debates always get polarised, so again, there's not much in it. Skrtels a fine young CB who's only going to get better.

Agger is a good defender, and he is the one who is more likely to mature into the role of marshaling the back line. Carra is doing it now impeccably well for us, but Agger has the potential to take over and do it better. He will benefit playing alongside an enforcer like Vidic.

Agger and a young Hyypia would be a mouth watering center-back partnership!

He certainly doesnt appear to attack Agger in the same manner as he does Skrtel

Haha, that's true.

According to an interview with Rafa tonight, Agger could be back in a couple of weeks. Even if he needs surgery. So, it wasnt as bad as they first thought.

Liverpool expect Agger back soon

Rafael Benitez has rubbished reports that suggest Liverpool defender Daniel Agger will be ruled out of action until November.

Agger looks set to undergo an operation on a back injury that has plagued him since March this year and forced him to miss the start of the season for the Reds.

But Benitez says that he expects the Danish international to return to action next month.

“Yes, he saw a specialist and maybe he will need an operation.

“I don’t think it will be long. If everything goes well it won’t take too much time, maybe a few weeks.â€

According to todays Echo the operation was a success and he's already back in light training. Will be back in a months time.

Good news!!
