I don't understand why people are feeling sorry for him for a lack of a better term. We always lambast modern day footballers for following their wallets and having no loyalty, now a player who's played for two clubs in his entire career is going back to his boyhood club after spending 8 and a half years here, yet we're still having a go at him, seems a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I'm happy for him, and have another little bit of respect for him for wanting only the move back home.

Agger: “I thank the #LFC fans for the incredible backing they’ve given me in my time here.”
Agger: “#LFC is very special. I remain a fan for life. Every game I played at Anfield was a privilege.”
Agger, who began his career at Brondby, made 232 appearances for #LFC and became a true Kop favourite
He's going back home to Denmark with his family. Doesn't care about the money. Makes sense and makes me respect him even more.
It has to be said, £6m/year in wages is one hell of a pay packet. I assume we are paying up a bit of his current contract too and that Bronby are signing for at least three years. So he's good for an additional £20m* more than he has now.
I won't be feeling too sorry for him.

"Liverpool have been such a big part of my life and my family's lives for so long, that leaving is extremely difficult," Agger told Liverpoolfc.com.

"I would like to thank the Liverpool supporters for the incredible backing they have given me in my time here and the warmth and generosity of spirit displayed to my family.
"This has been our home and somewhere we have been very happy and settled. However, more recently I have started to feel the effects of playing regularly in a league that is as physically demanding as the Premier League is, and I would not want to stay if I did not think that I was able to meet that challenge week in, week out.
"The club itself is very special and I shall remain a supporter for the rest of my life. I regard every game I played at Anfield as a privilege"
he only averaged 27 games a season for us .
I don't think you pay VAT on your salary - even in Denmark 😉
