45m for Sturridge ?

All - I don't think any of us should every worry about losing a goal scoring striker that is bordering or is world-class. From my experience of our club - the one thing that is dead certain is that if one goes then someone else will come along or become the adequate replacement. For 45M - yes please - I honestly did not think we would get any offers in that region for him based on his injury record. Also we will not benefit from him under Klopps systems - he is likely to be more injured.

I've been saying for ages to sell him and that people would pay for him and got rounded on for it.

I'd sell him for 30m nevermind 45m

He's completely unreliable

If there's one thing you should learn from our experience as a club, it's that whenever we sell a player like! Suarez, Torres, Alonso or Sterling the replacement(s) are usually woefully inadequate

For 45M we could buy 4-5 promising youngsters on the verge of greatness & have Klopp work his magic. 2-3 years later, even factoring in some failure rate, we could be selling 3 of them for 50M plus each, and so on. During that 2-3 years we probably qualify for the CL at least once, have a bit of a cup run or two, and maybe even have a go at nearly winning the title,

Could I suggest Arsenal as a club more suited to your lofty goals?

Yeah, but I bet there a few in the lizards camp who think that way.

I was obviously being sarcastic

Arn, I love you dearly (as I do everybody) & I sympathise with your campaign against nasty internetters, but if I were to interpret the responses from mac & ally as "attacks" then I would go through what remains of my life in a state of obsessive paranoia.

Oh and you missed the 1,603 likes

This 45 million is from the Daily Mail.

It's like believing Katy Hopkins.

Yes. Any offer we'd get for him would start low and then be inflated because of performance-related add-ons, which will probably never get paid, so we'd be invited to claim a face-saving total whilst the buying club would get a bargain.

1,604 now.

What this site really needs is for another thread to be turned into a discussion on Rodgers v committee.

I'd sell him for half that, maybe a tad more on top just to ice it. The majority of his career has been hypothetical conjecture about how good he'd be if he played regularly.
Well, he doesn't.
He's 27 at the start of next season. It's either try and sell for some moolah now or give him away in 2 years thinking about how great he would have been if only ... (see sentence 2).

If we got a euro campaign & half a season out of him with no injuries I reckon we push 60m easy.

This player is already the statistically the most prolific & accurate striker to ever play for us. Better than Owen, Fowler, Rush, Suarez, everyone. He is literally the greatest we have ever seen. I feel privileged to have seen him play, as should you.

Problem is, Foxy, that's a dirty great big "if". On quality alone Sturridge is definitely worth £45 mill.at today's prices, but it's just not that simple.

Wouldn't get that excited about him
