Sounds it but it's like me getting fined £300. I could manage it despite the moaning.
I'm sure it'd be fine for most people.....depends what that £300 is a result from.

I wouldn't expect to be fined that for telling a colleague for example "it's a fucking joke" if I was upset by something they did and then was so triggered by it I followed up by saying "don't fucking touch me"

More than any club or player has ever got for racism i'm lead to believe

Could be bollocks though

Oh easily.

Clubs get fined not even 5 figures by UEFA for crowd trouble (including your typical throwing of objects and homophobic/racist chants)

Not even 12 months ago ...... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/uefa-fine-sevilla-manchester-city-28684372

Again - a linesman assaults Robertson, makes a low key apology & its all brushed under the carpet. Van Dijk lets his emotions get the better of him in a tense moment, apologises almost immediately to the officials and is handed a 1 match ban.

Where the fuck is the consistency?

I hate most people, but I hate those in authority even more.

Two complete different incidents

But I agree with your overall points

Millwall got fined 10k

I’m guessing this will be the only time this season a player is fined for swearing at the officials.

Tenuous links to Lloyd Kelly, Spurs also looking at him - right age, Home Grown, can play as a LCB/LB, out of contract in the summer, so he’d be cheap and likely getable in January.

On the minus side - injury record isn’t great and I’m not convinced he’s good enough to be anything more than a squad player.

We have HG squad places to fill.

Klopp's first choice CB pairing will be VVD and Konate and I don't see that changing for two seasons at least. So you're looking for a 3rd or 4th choice CB. Lloyd Kelly is decent but as you've said, his injury stats rivals Naby.
The other cheap HG option would be Tosin Adarabioyo, again he is being looked at by Spurs can play either side of CB, coming into the last year of his contract. There is no injury data on him, so I am guessing he has never missed a game due to injury

Well… we were looking for a young LCB to cover Virgil or be developed as his replacement.

We know that Matip is off at the end of the season, Gomez will likely be retained as he’s HG and can play across the back four and Konate, while good is a bit fragile - so I’m up for adding 2 X CBs over the next 18 months or so - but at least one has to be HG.

Guehi is probably a better, but more cost option.

We do… but they need to be good and not injury prone, otherwise it’s a waste.

I’m not against signing Lloyd Kelly - I just don’t know whether he’s good enough.

Gonçalo Inácio ended the game with 108 successful passes, a new record for #LigaPortugal 23/24!

46 of these 108 passes were vertical, also a new maximum in the League

Morita (29), Coates (24), Pote (16), Nuno Santos (11), Matheus Reis (4) and Daniel Bragança (4) had him as the main passer

I'd disagree. We need serious competition for a starting CB and neither Gomez or Matip are that.
So we need a very high level CB so that our back line is not weakened when someone is injured or absent or out of form.

PLUS a new #5 CB. Preferably young and HG to hopefully bring them through (this could and hopefully will be Quansah).

He was one of the best players on the pitch against Chelsea last night. Not the highest bar maybe... 😉
In all seriousness he looked quite good and as a free transfer I dont hate it. But we probably need a step up in quality if we are to continue our rebuild in the same fashion.

Antonio Silva from Benfica would be a fantastic signing. He'll cost a shitload but what a talent.

I’m up for signing two good CB’s.

Didn't Lloyd Kelly reject us

Don’t think so.

I found one article that suggested we were interested in signing him twice before - but it wasn’t him rejecting us.

We looked at him apparently when he was a youngster, but wouldn’t pay the £13m Bristol we’re looking and Bournemouth we’re willing to pay.

We also looked at him while at Bournemouth, but opted for Tsimikas instead.

Unlike right wingers/forwards, there are many good options we could target to replace Matip and in time Virg.

Debast, Theate, Tapsoba, Hincapie, Medina, Inacio, Bastoni, Scalvini, Todibo, Milenkovic, Schollterbeck, Schuurs, Hancko.

Take your pick.

One of those - plus a Home Grown defender.

I'd take Rico Henry.....maybe Tomori too, otherwise the rest are shit.

Plus when do the likes of Harvey/Quansah/Bradley become HG?

Here's a great break down:

There are some errors, Gravenberch won't be HG and Quansah and Clark should be blue.
Also Quansah is HG (blue) next season.

Cool, thanks for that.

Didn't even know Glatzel and Jaros were listed as HG for this season....thought we only went into the season with 4 but can't imagine either will still be here next season, much like all the guys on loan.

For me the rule sucks, Harvey and Quansah whilst u21 players should still could towards the HG quota but ok we'll just have to wait until the start of next next season.

I know it's weird, but I guess the reason for that is to prevent teams from filing their squad with u21 players to get around it.

The point is that a club should strive to produce players good enough to play for the team in the long term.

Yeah but you still apply the rule of needing to be at said club for 3 years, Quansah is Liverpool produced and has been at the club for about 10 years. Why do we need to wait until he’s 22.5 before he can be classed as HG…stupid. Harvey been at the club for 4 years now, should be allowed. I get why Doak or Fabio couldn’t yet be as they were only signed a year ago.

Yeah the rule doesn't make sense when you have a super talented player in the squad.
Trent and Gerrard were starting in cup finals when they were under 21.

They need to get me sat in the FA hierarchy, I’d shake things up a bit and bring back the enjoyment people are oh so close to losing, if not already lost.

In other words, I’d make football great again.
Might consider sending off an application if I can find a link somewhere.

I think you guys are getting the rules a bit confused.

Having players like Harvey & Badger U21 and capable of holding down a position in the team is actually a bonus.

The amount of HG players doesn’t affect the amount of Overseas players you can register unless you want to register more than 8 - you can have anything up to 17 OS players and unlimited U21 players.

So - if we had to register, say Pitaluga, Quansah, Harvey, Badger & Bradley for example, we’d end up losing an OS spot.

Equally, we could register 1 HG player and we’d still be able to register 17 OS players and unlimited U21 players - you’d just have a squad of 18 senior players instead of 25. You’d still have unlimited U21 players at your disposal even if you registered another 7 HG players.

We could of made all the signings we made this summer and still retained Fabs & Hendo and had them in the squad of 25 along with everyone already listed - and we’d still be able to sign another HG player.

Gravenberch is a good example of how it can work - he doesn’t need to be registered until next season - so we’re free to sign another OS player in January. Gravenberch can take Thiago’s spot in the 17 OS players next season when he likely leaves on a free.

We could have retained Carvalho this season without registering him - next season he can take one of the vacant HG spots if we so desire.

There’s absolutely no benefit in “registering” a player like Elliot in the squad of 25 while they’re U21.

What about Guehi or Lloyd Kelly?
Palace would want too much for Guehi.....Tomori would be a better signing, regular in a title winning side, CL experience, probably cost less etc.

Kelly....I get Tyrone Mings vibes, leave him to Spurs, don't think he's good enough to be starting for a top 4 side.
