It's often forgotten that Forest themselves were a top side in those days and among our closest challengers. We have never, ever played a classier 90 minutes of football.

I saw some highlights the other day, I remember being there in the Kemlyn with Mum and Dad. Phenomenal display. After the game, i think Tom Finney was interviewed by Motty and he thought it was the most complete display he had ever seen, or will ever see. Better than Brazil was his quote.

I'd like to point out that somehow I found that game, on VHS, in a village shop about five years ago. For a quid.

Watched it twice almost back to back, fucking ace.

I then loaned said VHS to my dad, who subsequently lost it. He still has the VHS case, and points this out. As if this this is a good thing. I have now binned my VHS player, as I have no decent VHS tapes to play.

I don't think my dad frequents these forums, but if you do dad...you are a twat!

I was only a callow youth at the time but i remember the build up, it was first vs second and Forest were a top top quality team and we destroyed them.

Jimmy Greaves was quoted as saying that it was the best football he had ever seen.

It was absolutely awesome football from LFC and saddening because that team never got to rape AC milan et al in the european cup.... for me the height of footy.
