Is being reported the salary that Benteke is on..

Mental.. makes him one of the highest earners at the club..

Massive waste of money.. I think Balotelli is on something similar too..

We won't have any trouble selling Benteke.
We'll have to give Balotelli away for free.

You sound surprised, he's one of our biggest transfers. It goes hand in hand. He'll go to the Hammers and bang them in and you can maybe *finally* stop going on about it like he's the worst player ever.

Who's harping on about it...?

Probably the first time I've mention tekkers in a while.. and he gets credit from me when its due...

Though it does seem absurd he is commanding such a high wage, despite the fee we paid for him...

He can't of been on too much of a high wage at Villa?... Surely?

Great Agent [emoji33]

He could be well worth it but I doubt we'll ever know. I think he's got goals in him, but whether they're for us or elsewhere we'll never know with 15min blasts here and there.

Would he?
Exactly. He comes across as a decent, intelligent man in his press/media interviews and has conducted himself well in a difficult first season here without complaint. But that doesn't mean I think I know his mind.

Pray tell Dreamy, what amazing psychological insight have you to think he'll 'happily sit on the bench' and see the best years of his career come to nothing personally?

I agree he'd suit W.Ham. Part of his problem is that he's always been and, I suspect, always will be a streaky player and that would also affect him there but, with less pressure on him, he (and his club) can cope better with it. Can't see a place for him and Andy Carroll in the same squad though.

I think Benteke is fairly consistent in his goals per minute, at least as consistent as most strikers. I don't think he's that streaky, at least when he's getting game time.

Fantastic option to have in the squad, a year back we were relying on Sterling as our striker with Balotelli in reserve. Before that it was fucking Aspas.

If we have any ambitions to be a top side again we have to be prepared to keep proven goalscorers even if they don't play every week.

Would he bring home the bacon in that case?

He averages out at a decent rate but he gets there via alternating purple patches and barren spells. I don't know much about his time at Genk but at Villa he was a real Jekyll & Hyde striker, unplayable for a few weeks then invisible for a few more, rinse and repeat.

Hmm. I don't know that we can really afford to have a £32m pound striker earning £120,000 a week as a "reserve". That certainly wasn't the plan, and it's even less palatable when it's been quite obvious that he wasn't going to play much even with Sturridge out - given Klopp played Firmino on his own up front - and now even the raw Origi, who has a grand total of two Premiership goals so far, appears to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I think that's the wrong way to look at it. Benteke has scored important goals for us and is a great option to have in the squad.

Man City have Bony as a £30m sub and no-one gives a shit. ManU pick Rashford instead of Memphis Depay.

We have wasted money on bargain punts for years - Aspas, Balotelli, and a zillion others but Benteke has contributed this season and the more time Klopp has with him I'm sure he can keep being a valuable member of the squad because he seems a good lad, doesn't cause a fuss and wants to learn.

City have a trillionaire oil fund backing them. I'd dearly love to have enough money so that a £32m player on £120,000 can be a useful bench option, but we don't.

Are you really comparing us to Manchester City?

Arent they getting a free stadium on taxpayers expense. Now they want other to contribute to their players wages too.
