In.

Without any shadow of a doubt.

Even Chelski looses games against the likes of Fulham and Wigan, playing with 9 to10 men after beeing forced to field one to many a squad-player from the off. And they'll do so again.

We are 9 points adrift and that's sad but it's not even Chrimbo time yet. People should really calm their nerves a bit and have a pint.
But we need to drop no more points all season and for Arsenal, Man U and City to drop loads of points too...
Well thats not really true is it? Man United play Chelsea next week and we are at home to Birmingham. If the mancs win and we win, then its 6 points.
If we beat Chelsea at our ground its 3 points.......you know the rest.
Unlikely, improbable, so is being three nil down to Milan at half time and winning the european cup with a team that had Mellor, Traore, Biscan and Baros in it.YE KNA!!
Point is, as possible as everything still is in theory, if we do beat the chavs and the scum again and arse home and away (which we certainly can), are you confident that we won't drop silly points again all season, like at Birmingham or at Stoke, etc...
If we can get Gerrard, Aquilani, Agger, Torres, Reina, Johnson and Mascherano fit together for a run of 15 games then ANYTHING is possible. If things remain this way we have no chance.

Once again though, NON OF THIS is Rafa's fault.

I'm out.

5 years.

No league titles.
Some of the worst XIs I've ever seen play in the team.
Awful substitutions.
Bizarre tactical decisions.
A staggering level of arrogance.
Prioritization of the CL over the league when most fans clearly aspire to the latter.
Bringing all sorts of unwanted attention to the club by playing his part in the constant infighting.

Honestly, some of you lads would give him another 5 years to win the league but I don't think he'll ever do it.

Others seem to be saying "well how can we expect him to do it unless he has a 20m player in every position". Graeme Sounness could make a good fist of it if he had a 20m player in each fucking position.

I'd love to work for some of you lads, it must be a doddle.

He can't be blamed for everything, of course. But he shares some of the responsibility for this run we're on...
Gene he had (roughly) 80m worth of players out injured today. How can anyone be expected to cope with that on a budget of roughly 20m a year? Thats FOUR years of talent he couldnt play.
Dont get me wrong hes spent dismally in the 5 to 10m bracket but if you have Agger (10m), Johnson (20m), Gerrard (40m), Riera (10m) and Aquilani (15m) out injured and unavailable, what can you do?

How about NOT taking off the only players who looked dangerous, Andy?

Sometimes your best move is the one you don't make.

You know what I reckon,

Rafa is fuckin with the team to make us look shite, play shite.

His reason, to put pressure on the yanks..... No League Title, No Champion League = Yanks pressured to sell.

You may think I am mad, but..... They cant sack him either.

Is Rafa playing a very clever game?
No he's just not half as good a manager as people think he is.
You may be right, but what the fuck was the reasoning in playing Degen and Krygiakos today?
Your first post is very, very mad.

Your post above suggests you know little about a thing called "injuries" he3nce the Greek and Degen's inclusion today. Its also the reason why Gerrard and torres have been missing loads this season already.
Injuries my arse.......

More like wrap Agger in cotton wool for next wednesday, the same reason Torres came off early today and fucked the result.

And to be fair, I'd have played fucking Skrtel still ahead of the shower of shit that are Degen and Kyrgiakos.

I can be talked around Torres. Yossi?

Berno: You would have played Skrtel instead of Degen? At RB? Hmmm...

Plus are you saying that Rafa or the club are lying about injuries to prioritise the CL? Really? Perhaps I'd take your mind back to when Rafa took Gerrard off against Lyon as a "precaution" before the Man U game. So was he prioritising the CL there then?

We've lost 5 games in the league before November

We've got a squad full of cunts who shouldn't be playing for Liverpool

We're hanging by a thread in Europe

And do you think Torres will hang around without CL football?

He loves the club, but a player of his talent might think he deserves better, rather than waste the best years of his career without winning any trophies

Fucking hell, some of the happy-clappy optimism on here is enough to make me sweat pure bile

We were 2-1 down and down to 10 men. Our captain and world class striker are carrying injuries and we have further massive games to come. Why risk our only other creative player currently fit for any longer?
Thats a bit of a misrepresentation of the views Brendan.
If we had money to pay Rafa off and get in a top top manager and arm him with funds to overhaul the bench and build the squad then fine lets do it. But we can barely afford a packet of quavers so it seems a bit counter productive.
Im getting those old 'Hes never going to win us the title' feelings i thought i had burried years ago but theyre back for sure, but whaddawegonnado?

I'm not misrepresenting anything, there's scores of we can do it posts, we just need to get Gerrard and co back, we've been dead unlucky, chelsea will drop points, blahblahblah

It's a fucking joke

He's turned into Houllier, exactly as predicted, and his infuriating intrasigence and myopia is now damaging the club

We won't get anywhere near the title, fact

And Benitez needs to take his fair share of the fucking blame, because he's the one who fucking brought cunts like Lucas, Voronin, Zorba, Insua et al
You're probably right, im probably defending the indefensible really but he's had shit luck. Aside from the Lucas's and Degens, our best players are rarely fit. Chelsea have barely had a sniff of an injury to any of their side this year. Its bad luck.

it really is terrible luck

we need our top players back and until they are then it won't improve. just a few of them would be nice

it will be a miracle if we get a win in Lyon, they should be easy meat for them at home

Because there was still a chance of getting something out of the game..?

Are you ok with him simply conceding that match? Becuase that's what your response suggests.

It wasn't conceding the game imo. It was about protecting what we had in terms of quality uninjured creative players. Imagine if we'd lost and Yossi had been injured too.

Our next team against Lyon would have looked like this, for a must win game:

Reina
Degen
The Greek
Carra
Insua
Kuyt
Mascherano
Lucas
Aurelio
Ngog
Voronin

They had decided before the game that Torres was only going to be able to play for around 60 mins, so it was just a question of wether he started or came on in the 2nd half.

Exactly. The optimists are delusional. We need to win the league. Rafa has failed and will continue to fail. There's no reason to believe otherwise.

Rafa in Rafa in we need to give him our support. Ginsoak had times like these when in his early days at utd we will come good our luck will change it has to no more than 86 points will win the league this year

Facts!

I don't understand why it needs to be one or the other.

I'm a fan of Liverpool FC; not of Rafa or Hicks or even Sammy Lee. I'm a fan of the club.

As a fan of the club I will ask quesitions about the merit of one or may players or the manager.

I've said before I don't really see a better manager out there just now but if he came along we should seriously consider him because I just don't believe that Rafa has the mentality to win the epl.

For those who remeber it this is alarmingly similar to the end of GH's time. The team would perform and jag a result against the mancs but lose to Palace or Wigan the next week. There was a lack of heart and fibre in that team near the end where they had given up on the hard yards that need to be won each week in order to claim the title. They settled for the one off efforts against the mancs or Everton.

This team has more talent in 5 players than what we just came up against yet we looked a completely different team to what took the field the previous week. The heart and the will just wasn't there and when they got a goal - very much against the run of play - the fight went out of us. It really left me with quite a sick feeling in my stomach.

I very much want Rafa to turn it around but I think he closed the lid on his coffin during the transfer window.
