You know what I reckon,

Rafa is fuckin with the team to make us look shite, play shite.

His reason, to put pressure on the yanks..... No League Title, No Champion League = Yanks pressured to sell.

You may think I am mad, but..... They cant sack him either.

Is Rafa playing a very clever game?
No he's just not half as good a manager as people think he is.
You may be right, but what the fuck was the reasoning in playing Degen and Krygiakos today?
Errrr......Johnson and Agger were injured?

Yer Sheik we did and deserved it, but to get that level of performance evry week we need better quality players to provide consistenlty good performances
But we don't play Utd every week. We play teams we've spent lots more money than.
Yer exactly Sheik, and were getting exactly what we deserve we have a decent squad with some great players, but too pull it off every week against ther lesser teams, needs players to play at a high level consistently, people shouldn't expect results every week were a good team not a great one
And who's fault is it, along with their players, if the team cannot get motivated for the lesser opposition like they can for the big names?

Especially if you ARE one of the big names yourself and most of your games are "lesser".
IMO the players should need NO extra motivation to play against the lesser teams, i think it's more natural to raise your game against the bigger teams, but to play at the level needed surely you need a very good squad

Theoretically, yes.

But when they clearly can't do it by themselves, who's job is it to ensure that they do?

Chelsea and Man U seem to get it right most weeks against lesser teams.

Your first post is very, very mad.

Your post above suggests you know little about a thing called "injuries" he3nce the Greek and Degen's inclusion today. Its also the reason why Gerrard and torres have been missing loads this season already.

Motivation only gets you so far though, Rafa i doubt doesn't tell his team any diffirent when we played today from the Man Utd game, If you haven't got the motivation inside yourself how can someone else give you it

It's part of a manager's job, mate. You can talk around it all you want, but it is...

If THAT team is capable of outplaying Man U last week, then THAT performance is unacceptable, and the manager deserves his portion of the blame, for not keeping the players motivated to reproduce the same level of performance.

I'll agree to a point, but availabilty of players aside, his substitutions were, once again, baffling...

I'm not sating it's all his fault. Just that he's part of the problem too.

Taking off our two most creative players didn't help. Who did that Kriss? Hicks or Gillett?

And seeing as we're so fucking skint, why did Rafa think he had the luxury of having a 20 million quid player parked in a hospital bed for a third of the season? Come on boys explain that one away. You can't have your cake and eat it.

I agree. There's no point in throwing hissy fits now, there's 27 games to go and we need Chelsea to lose 3 already (well they've lost 2 out of 11 so it's very possible), so it doesn't look good for the league but you never know (as most of you bastards now wanting Rafa out preached and preached last year). We can still progress in the CL, our backs have been firmly against the wall before now and we've done it so let's see what happens there. Nobody really gives two shiny shits about the carling cup, even a lot (weirdos) don't give a toss about the F.A cup but we are still in it for what's it's worth.

We've been twatted with injuries to our best players, illness, knobhead owners (I also think we've missed Sammi like a mofo) and so we have had a bad start, the season isn't over and it isn't 5 minutes to doomsday either.

Yer i agree that he makes some strange subs, about aquilaini we needed to replace Alonso and he must of been the best replacement for the price range we had was him, who knows but, maybe he has his trust in Lucas, Don't ask why but maybe ha !

Jaysus, lads...

Ah, forget it.

Very much still in.

We knew it would be difficult this summer when the funds to cover replacements for players werent forthcoming. We all knew we needed a top class attacking talent be it wide left or up front, and its my understanding that Rafa was led to believe that he would be given all the money from sales only to find out later that he was to use that money to cover players contracts and not just purchases. If rafa had known that i doubt he would have bought a 17m Right back. If he had known he wouldnt see the keane money again i doubt he would have let him go either.
Im not absolving him of blame, and he at least must take part of the responsibility for Alonso's departure albeit i agreed totally with Rafa's call at the time. And also with the Aquilani deal, we were told six weeks untill he could play, that was in the last week of August nearly 10 weeks ago, was Rafa under the belief that it would indeed be 6 weeks? If so then fair enough it was probably a decent call, however he should have played Gerrard deeper and let Yossi support Torres rather than persist with what now looks like one of our worse central midfields ever.

This is all by the by, fact is he was told we would have the Keane money (8m) plus our 20m Kitty plus player sales (30m) and that wasnt the case. He was given (to spend on squad strengthening) between 20 and 30m depending on how much you think we have paid for Johnson so even at worst case we are a 15m player short of what we should have, that of course would have helped.

So would Aquilani's injury not running into its third month.
So would gerrard not getting injured
So would torres not getting injured
So would Babel not turning out to be shit.
So would Riera not being injured
So would Agger not being injured
So would Carragher not coming apart at the seams.
So would Johnson not being injured
So would Aurelio not being injured....
These arent bit part squad players, this is the basis of our side out injured week in week out and Rafa constantly having to put out a scratch side, a fact the press are totally ignoring (as are a few posters it seems).
Or should i talk about Referees not seeing clear handballs in the box?
Or maybe beachballs and understanding of the rules?

We are having a shit time with a shit run of luck and yes of course form is stuttering, but what would Mourinho do? Wave a wand and our SIX first team regulars are all fully fit and raring to go?

Im aware that i have laid into Rafa in the past mostly for his baffling decisions, but im with him here and now because theres little else he can do.

The leagues gone for sure but i dont see how spending next years transfer kitty starting another 5 year plan will help that.

For the first time in a while theres a bit of excitement about some of the kids we have coming through Eccleston, Pacheco, N'gog, Nemeth, Kelly, Insua, Dalle Vale etc.
We still have 2 of the best players in the world, we still have Agger, Mascherano, Aquilani, Reina, Johnson, Kuyt etc we just need fitness and luck.

I'm in, obviously.

Today highlighted how weak and shit our squad is. What's new? The run we're on is unacceptable, no doubt, but we've got arguably the best first eleven in the league and things will improve sooner rather than later.

I've never been one of Rafa's biggest defenders but we're much, much better than we currently look, and he took us closest to a league title than any manager has in my lifetime last year. Because of that he's still got my faith and support;

Fail to make the CL? (A low expectation I admit) then serious questions can and will be asked.

In.

Without any shadow of a doubt.

Even Chelski looses games against the likes of Fulham and Wigan, playing with 9 to10 men after beeing forced to field one to many a squad-player from the off. And they'll do so again.

We are 9 points adrift and that's sad but it's not even Chrimbo time yet. People should really calm their nerves a bit and have a pint.

I just dont see the point in getting stupid about it. We sack Rafa then thats 10m quid Minimum gone, and who do we bring in who can....ya know....heal the sick?

john-turturro-as-jesus-quintana1.jpg

Rafa isnt destroying our league hopes, he's doing everything he can to hold them together!! He takes of a player today playing through injury in the hope that he wont fucking break him totally and be without him for months and he's villified. Its fucking crazy, in fact its dangerous journalism.
He made the right choice.
A change will come soon enough, these players wont be out forever and we CAN go and win 10 to 15 on the bounce, i KNOW it, so im not panicing.
We can still win three trophies. And how sweet it would be to win one of them from this rack and ruin we are in now.

If we beat Chelsea at our ground its 3 points.......you know the rest.
Unlikely, improbable, so is being three nil down to Milan at half time and winning the european cup with a team that had Mellor, Traore, Biscan and Baros in it.YE KNA!!
