[article]Two part-time prostitutes suspected of robbing France international midfielder Yann Mvila and a friend face charges in a court hearing on December 6, judicial sources said here Thursday.
According to the source, confirming a report in La Gazette de Montpellier, M'Vila and an unnamed friend agreed a sum with the women to provide services of a sexual nature at a Montpellier hotel following France's friendly with Chile on August 10, which ended 1-1.
The women, named as Ingrid and Sarah and described as "occasional prostitutes" in the case, met the players in a nightclub.
The following morning the players awoke to find they had been robbed of expensive watches, one of which was valued at 13,000 euros, laptop computers and mobile telephones.
Mvila, who plays for French first division side Rennes, and his friend immediately contacted police to report the incident, leading to the arrest of the pair.[/article]

[article]Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has been released from police custody after being arrested over an alleged assault of a 17-year-old man.
The France international, who missed his club's Ligue 1 clash with Ajaccio for 'personal reasons', has been accused of striking the teenager at his home on Friday night.
"Yann has acknowledged that it was an inappropriate response but provoked by the betrayal of the trust he gave to this young man," M'Vila's lawyer Thierry Fillion told L'Equipe.
"As it stands, no decision has been taken yet by the Rennes prosecutor on this case but the file will be forwarded to him within eight to 10 days."
M'Vila was arrested on Monday and spent the night in police custody before being released the following morning.[/article]

[article]Yann M'Vila has been suspended from the France national squad until 2014.
The 22-year-old was disciplined along with Under 21 internationals Wissam Ben Yedder, Antoine Griezman, Chris Mavinga and M'baye Niang after they visited a nightclub in between the crucial Euro 2013 qualifying matches against Norway in October.
While the other players have been handed bans lasting until December 31, 2013, Stade Rennais midfielder M'Vila, who has 22 caps, has been issued a more severe sanction, preventing him from representing his country at any level until Monday, June 30, 2014, leaving his potential participation in the World Cup in serious jeopardy.[/article]
[article]M’Vila grew up in the banlieue, first in Amiens then in Mantes-la-Jolie. They were tough suburbs. Reflecting on his childhood in SoFoot, M’Vila said: “There were hardly any kids [in my neighbourhood] who weren’t going around stealing things. Without football, I don’t see why I would have done any better than the others. I stole scooters, and wandered the streets after midnight even though I had school the next day.”
It was hard knocks. “Some teachers were afraid to come to school,” he told L’Equipe. Leaving the banlieue and your past behind is easier said than done. “It’s true that with fame you get new friends, new cousins… You need to be really careful,” M’Vila admitted. “Sometimes I’ve been a little too naive… Sometimes I’m just a kid who is living his life.”
Indeed, as his former teammate Jires Kembo mused, perhaps “too much has come too soon” for M’Vila. At 22 he already has 22 caps for France. It”s occasionally forgotten he’s still so young and, relatively speaking, at the beginning of his career.
M’Vila claimed back in the summer that he has tried to change things, not least separating his real friends from the fakes one. “I go out less. I try to eat better. I’ll also hire a cook,” he promised. Gone, it seemed, are the days M’Vila alluded to in a conversation with SoFoot when he candidly said he wasn’t about to start eating healthily just because he’d turned pro. “I continue to eat what I like, kebabs and everything. I just don’t put sauce on it.”[/article]

[article]The French Football Federation have agreed to reduce the suspension imposed on midfielder Yann M'Vila for his involvement in an unauthorised night out while on duty with the France U-21 squad.
M'Vila had originally been banned until the end of June 2014, effectively ruling him out of a place in the France squad should Les Bleus qualify for next summer's FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil.
However, the last four months of that ban have now been suspended, meaning that the 22-year-old will be available for selection again as of 1 March next year. M'Vila, who has been capped 22 times, recently left Ligue 1 club Rennes to join Russian outfit Rubin Kazan.
He was the highest profile of five U-21 squad members that took a taxi from the Normandy city of Le Havre to Paris, a journey of 200km, in between the two legs of a UEFA European Championship qualifying playoff against Norway.
Having won the first leg 1-0, the French team lost 5-3 in the return to miss out on a place in the finals in Israel in June. Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder also had his ban reduced by three months, meaning he will be open to selection again as of December 31.
The other three players implicated; Real Sociedad's Antoine Griezmann, Mbaye Niang of AC Milan and Chris Mavinga of Rennes, were all banned until December 31 this year, and decided not to appeal.[/article]

[article]Rubin Kazan’s most recent signing Yann M’Vila could be sent behind the bars in France for an alleged connection with a 15-year prostitute.
One of the most talented players of his age M’Vila surprisingly moved from Rennes to Rubin Kazan for €12 million instead of the English Premier League this winter. The player was expelled from the French national team for reportedly organizing a night out while on duty with the French under-21 squad. He had also become the victim of a robbery by two prostitutes in 2011. He was motivated to move to Russia to escape the attention he had received at home. Now he has found himself at the center of another scandal.
France’s Le Monde paper reports that in November 2012 police detained a girl, who had been suspected of shoplifting. Further investigation found that the girl was 15 at the time of arrest and involved in prostitution. More importantly ‘explicit’ photos and text messages, discovered in her mobile phone, fed suspicions that some top football players, including M’Vila, could be connected to her.
According to French law, if it is proved that M’Vila did have sexual relations with the girl and that he knew how old she was, he could face up to three years in prison.
The case is similar to one involving Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema last year, and is another scar on the French national team.[/article]
