Possibly. Ive never seen a more fractured team. They certainly dont seem to rally round him like the Portuguese do with Ronaldo
I think for Portugal every player knows they're a bit shit, whereas for Argentina they all think they're boss.

I still don't know why they didn't take icardi

That Argentina team was a mess and the tactics awful.
Laughable really when you see all that talent.

Strange that Sampaoli didnt pick Leandro Paredes, Icardi,Pastore or Correa. Or even Rulli for that matter.
Awful team

Argentina's team was picked based on politics - their best striker, probably for Messi too, is sitting at home ... How they didn't take him still boggles the mind.

Fuck them.

I'm not sure Icardi would have made a difference. Unless he's a good goalkeeper too

I think they become a much better team with a more cohesive attacking unit - which influences the team etc ... Easier to win when your team can score 2-3 goals a game.

Argies were shit. They deserved what was coming. Running around feeling sorry for themselves. And the village idiot conducting the choir from the sidelines being the icing of the cake. The croatians won the important duells and they fought for every inch. Argies hopes that the VAR will give them one situation to win the game. Fuck them and fuck Otamendi. What a pussy.

Talented players always find a way. That lot are not as great as many of you thought. So this Messi ... I think he is only world class when he has other world class players around him for support.

That would certainly help but a tournament like this reinforces that a team is only as strong as its weakest link.

Argentina had quite a few weak links.

Had the same conversation in the office today - apart from Ronaldo - they have all been average or shit. Those two Croatian players in the middle the one from Barca and the other old man from Real Madrid were very good against Argentina. I am really not convinced by any of the teams except for England mainly due to the chances we created against Tunisia. Of course we have to question the opposition but I cannot see England struggling against the lesser teams like the way Portugal, and Spain did against Morocco, and Iran respectively. Belgium may be hard to beat too. But other than that - they all seem rather ... shit, and in many ways justifies my comments throughout the year regarding how shit football players are when comparing standards to previous years.

The South American teams have been absolutely terrible - I think selling their young talent to Europe has now taken its toll. Do some of you older guys remember the days when you use to see Argentinian, Brazilian, and other players you never heard of suddenly come on and light up a game with great skill and impacting a game ? - those days are truly over it seems and South American players don't seem that special any more.

That is one of the most stupid posts I’ve ever read.

Yep. Keeper, both FBs, CBs .. no need to go on. Messi has had zero service and little in the way of support BTW, for the knockers. ..
