Who will stay and who will go?

Here is my attempt at estimating the likelihood of each of our first team (senior only) players leaving this summer. Feel free to offer your estimation.

================

Alisson 20% Entirely depends on Alli and whether he wants a new challenge – surely LFC will not push the best GK in the world out of the door. That PSG away performance put any doubts about potential decline to bed. I think he says for 1 more season.
Kelleher 80% Unless the club makes a U-turn on the Mamardashvili purchase or Alisson decides to leave, it’s hard to see Irish Kevin staying. Good luck to him!

Virgil 0%
Konate 40%
Gomez 60%
I think Gomez might want to explore a new challenge, but if Konate’s contract impasse proves unresolvable and we are forced to sell Ibu to PSG, surely the club will hold on to Gomez. So I think one of Gomez or Konate is almost definitely leaving and the other is almost definitely staying.
Quansah 0%
Trent 80%
Barring a last-minute U-turn, we all know what’s going to happen.
Bradley 0%
Tsimikas 65%
Robertson 35%
Much like with the Konate/Gomez situation, I think one of our LBs will stay and the other will go. Keeping Robbo seemed like a no-brainer, but the fact that Tsimikas is finishing the season as first-choice just as his best friend Mo has signed a new deal makes me think it’s not so clear-cut yet. Financially, the club might quite like the idea of keeping Tsimikas as a back-up on far less money than Robbo is earning. On the other hand, replacing Robbo’s leadership and experience won’t be so easy. This will be a big decision among many this summer.

Gravenberch 0%
Endo 40%
I think Endo has won Slot over to some extent and the decision whether to stay or leave would be entirely up to him, whether he values the chance of winning trophies over regular playing time. If I were him, I would stay.
Szoboszlai 0%
Mac Allister 5%
Only if Real Madrid suddenly decides they desperately need Mac Allister in their life. Still might happen, but probably not this season.
Jones 5% We need homegrown players; I can only see us selling if someone offers silly money.
Elliott 75% Sadly, Slot doesn’t seem to rate him. He will leave with the Premier League winners’ medal – far from the worst way to end this chapter for a boyhood fan.

Salah 0%
Gakpo 0%
Diaz 40%
Jota 50%
There is a case for selling 4 out of our 6 forwards, but I cannot imagine that the club will want to let all 4 go in one summer. So with Chiesa and Nunez almost certain to leave, probably only one of Diaz or Jota will be sold and there is even a small chance that both will stay if we can’t get a good enough replacement.
Chiesa 75% There is a case for giving him one more season to try to prove his fitness; his attitude is superb and talent not in question. Just hard to see it with him not even making the squad lately.
Nunez 90% I think everyone is ready to move on; that training spat or whatever it was probably sealed it.

================

So from this rough estimate, it seems the club will need to replace 6-7 senior players, not counting the back-up GK: a CB, a RB, a LB, an AM and 2 or 3 forwards/wingers – that’s quite a lot for one summer and for that reason I think borderline cases such as Endo or Diaz/Jota might be decided in favour of keeping, just to minimize the churn. Also I wonder if there might be any opportunities to promote from within: maybe Bajcetic can be one and at a stretch Nyoni for Elliott? Doesn’t seem like there are many more youngsters that will be ready to take over (not counting Bradley for Trent, which is already built-in, but he will need back-up/competition), so that gives us an idea of how many signings to expect. This promises to be a busy summer!

Pretty accurate but I wouldn't have Quansah at 0%. Probably closer to 30% for me. And Elliott back to 40% for me too.

All the others are in the ball parks for me

Says a lot about Chiesa's situation when Nunez gets included into the match day squad ahead of him.
I think you're spot on but some of the percentages should be higher.
Like Kelleher, Nunez, Diaz, Trent and Endo.

Next season players will be playing for a spot in the world cup. So there will be a lot of movement in the summer.

Kev, Trent, Morton and Nunez are goners.
Kev will be going for £40m and Nunez for £60m+. Morton £15-20m.

I think Diaz wants more money, I don't blame him and the Saudis will offer £60m+ for him. He gets his wage increase we get funds.

Slot does not rate/trust Harvey or Cheesy. They're gone. Harvey will fetch £30-40m and Cheesy £25m.

I think Robbo is done, the LB role is very demanding and he lacks the physicality any more. I would sell him. Tsimikas injury prone. If it were upto me I would replace both.

Jota will stay, and I think he will want to. Slot likes him. The only I see him going is if the Saudis make a stupid offer for him of £60m+.

Doak goes if we get an offer of £25m+ which we won't.
Steph will be integrated with the 1st team.
JoGo again if an offer comes in and he wants to go. He is on decent wages.

Konate stays unless PSG make a stupid £100m+ offer. I think he will re-sign.

The rest of the 1st team are guaranteed to stay

I have Chiesa as high as Nunez, Trent at 95% and Konates to 50%. The club should sort his contract out, but if it's a non-starter and going nowhere fast then the club need to move him on if the chance is there.

Quansah is not immune, either. Newcastle were sniffing around him and if a £40m bid lands then the club could be tempted - depends what's going on with Gomez/Konate, though. I hope he stays.

Good thread.

Would say all 100%
Kelleher
Trent
Elliott
Nuñez
Chiesa
Jota

75%
Diaz
Konate (seems like)
Endo
Robbo (I think we sell Robbo while we can and keep Tsimikas who is a fine backup)

Somewhere between 25-50%
Gomez (who would want to buy him, but I doubt we want to keep him)
Szoboszlai (I think we should consider an offer if a genuine upgrade is on the table)
Alisson (there's rumors of him leaving - but he's been excellent this season and we should keep him unless he pushes to leave)

I doubt we'll see 10 senior players leave but also it does seem like a summer of change is coming

There's already a thread (on page 2) started 10 days ago :

Maybe I should adjust Quansah to 30% - if we sign Huijsen, I can see Jarrell being loaned out for a season, maybe to Bournemouth.

It would be suicide for next season to remove more than 4 first teamers, IMHO.

I'm critical of our strikers... but they've scored 14 more than Arsenal in PL, and 11 more than City.

And that's without many massive blow outs.

Maybe I should adjust Quansah to 30% - if we sign Huijsen, I can see Jarrell being loaned out for a season, maybe to Bournemouth.

I think a loan is probably the best move for Quansah if he's staying at Liverpool. He doesn't look ready to play at this level and we could do with finding out if he ever will be.

So let's say Quansah leaves on loan, I believe Gomez will definitely be sold. Who is our 4th choice CB?

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez may not start another game for the club after a clause in his contract reveals £5M must be paid with one more appearance.

Nunez has not started a Liverpool match in any competition since March as his time on Merseyside reportedly comes to a close. The 25 year old joined the Reds from Benfica in 2022 for an initial £64m, with a further £21m in add-ons potentially being triggered. Some of those clauses have already been triggered and now one report suggest the club are trying to avoid paying one more.

This report comes from Portuguese outlet A Bola who revealed that Benfica were paid €5M when the Uruguyan reached 10 starts in the Premier League and Champions League combined, another €5M when reaching 35 and a further €5M when tallying 50. Nunez currently sits on 49 starts combined in both competitions which may explain his consistent appearances on the bench.

It’s quite plausible that Nunez might’ve already made his final Premier League start for the club as rumours of a move away once the summer transfer window grow. The striker has just 7 goals and 5 assists in 42 appearances this season, with 5 of those coming in the Premier League.

We may have to rename the act of reposting news that has already been posted as Binnying.
Although what we are going to call posting a long article that has all the important bits in bold I have no idea.
Of course, posting a long article without anything in bold is Beamridering

I did not believe it the first time I read it, but now that @King Binny posted it… 🙂

Kev is going Bournemouth and we will get Huijsen and Kerkez. I think Steph sorts out the #6 role and possibly the RB role along with JoGo who then can be managed (Conor as 1st choice). If Newcastle want Quansah then there might be deal for Gordon.
Robbo goes to make way for Kerkez, pretty sure he would still want 1st team football. Tsimi and Jo act as cover for Kerkez.
Harvey and Cheesy make way for Cherki and Frimpong.
Uptop Davids and Delap, I would be okay with for Nunez and Diaz/Jota.

Summary
Outbound
Kev
Quansah
Robbo
Harvey
Cheesy
Nunez
Diaz/Jota
Morton

Inbound
The Georgian (GK)
Kerkez
Huijsen
Frimpong
Cherki
Gordon
Delap
Davids

The chance of any of this happening is 0 but imho it gives the squad the balance it needs. List will be subject to change

I think a loan is probably the best move for Quansah if he's staying at Liverpool. He doesn't look ready to play at this level and we could do with finding out if he ever will be.
We don't have the strength in depth to do that. Konate isn't an ever present and Gomez is worse.

Let's see who we bring in first but we'd need 2 CBs inbound before I'd consider sending him out on loan.

You on drugs?

If the Nunez clause is real then it might explain that dressing room spat/poor training session that led to him missing out on the bench. Slot dismissed it and the club put it down to illness, but that's a common line to keep issues in-house. Hard to give everything in training when he knows he's not starting and probably off in the summer. He's effectively on notice.
