who are the title contenders next season?

Realistically in with a chance of winning it? City and Chelski I'd have thought.
Outside chance/dark horses are us and the arse.
Unknown is the scum, a lot will depend on their transfer dealings. Harry fucking potter couldn't do fuck all with the current team.

Spurs will be excellent next season
I hear that same crap every year. Yet to see it happen.

As for contenders, ask me after the window. At the moment, city of course and Chelsea, but depending on who is brought in over the summer, ourselves, Manu and arse could be well up there.

I do actually like Pochettino but spurs have a knack of ruining managers and quite nicely at that.

Think City have to be favourites. They will go and sign someone like Thiago Silva and cover the one slight weakness they have in their side.

Think if we sign well in the summer we can challenge, but this really does depend on what business we do. 70m plus sales is the figure quoted and whilst i'd be surprised if that were true, the board back that and we sign well i.e fabregas/moreno/lallana/shaqiri/lovren then we'll be bang on the money IMO.

Favourites: City and Chelsea

Next rung: Us, United and Arsenal

Little hope: Everton, Spurs

You've got to drop United down into the last bracket - there is a massive amount of work to be done at United whilst both us and Arsenal have a real chance of at least challenging.

I am sadly quite sure that Uruguay will fuck-up our chances by playing Suarez in the World Cup whilst not fully recovered from injury and send him back to us crocked.

I think they've got one of the best managers in the league and one of the few who have outwitted Rodgers last season.

Time will tell but I won't be shocked if they are flying high

Chelsea will walk the league next seaon if history is anything to go by with Jose.

In advance of the transfer window I'd say we're better placed than the Chavs in terms of a balanced squad. Everyone (except maybe Citeh) will need to make good signings, but I reckon the gaps in other squads are (at least potentially) more serious than ours and may be correspondingly harder to fill.

I think United vastly underperformed this season, mainly due to problems with their manager, that could be turned around. They do have a lot of work to do, but so do we. They're probably in a sub group below us, but I would rate their chances a lot higher than Spurs or Everton.

We don't play him the first 6 games to give the others a chance anyway.....

It's between Man C, Man U and Chelsea.
CL will be too big of a distraction for us.

That's possible, but IMO unlikely. My guess would be that *if* we prioritise any one competition it'll be the Prem. Citeh and the Chavs will also have the CL to cope with anyway.

2001/02 - 2nd place
2002/03 - 5th place

2008/09 - 2nd place
2009/10 - 7th place

Just a feeling.

What did Utd show last season to make them jump from 7th and up? Adding Van Gaal? So far its proven difficult for them to attack top players and they'll struggle to get top 4 imho. Same with Spurs.

City and Chelsea will be favourites. Arse and us fight for 3rd/4th and Utd, Everton and Spurs will finish in the places after that.

Maybe Utd or Spurs can pip Arsenal to 4th but I doubt it.

Man U can still attract and afford world class players we struggle in that aspect.

Who is being attracted to them....everyone seems to be shunning away a move to them if anything....

Look at Man C, they didn't have CL football when they signed Touré.

Kroos almost signed for Man U until their new manager rejected them.

I actually expect Man U to spend a whole lot of cash in the summer and bring in some top class players. Who? Not sure.

See where you're coming from, but we had European managers then, plus far less competence in the boardroom.

True but I'm keeping my expectations low. Last time I believed that we were gonna win the league we finished 7th.
It's too early to tell really, will be interesting to see how the teams look in August.

It is a huge season for Man U. Hopefully Van Gaal get it all wrong, but he does have a better philosophy for football than Moyes. They need to add to their squad thats for sure, and with some good addition they are a top four squad. If not the Van gaal factor turn against them and it ends up with riot instead.

They'll have a tricky balance to strike. They need quite a few additions but the more they fetch in, the harder it'll be to knit them all together. They'll get a lot closer than they did under poor old Moyes, but I don't think they'll be prospective champions for two or three seasons yet.
