I don't think thats true - I thin there is creativity there in the team - much more than anything we had last season. What I think the problem is - is that we we are not dominating games early enough, we do create good chances in games but in this particular game we were slow and unable to do what we wanted to do at any stage and it don't help when your down to 9 men.
doesn't matter how shit we were, 11 v 11 and we have a chance.

The point is we're counting on him and only him to get the goals. There's no one else.
We would like to believe that Downing will get his act together and place a decent cross on Carroll's head. That hasn't happened apart from the Sunderland game.
We would also like to believe that Adam will be the new Alonso. Pinging perfect Hollywood balls to the wing and controlling the pace of the game, but that isn't gonna happen either it seems.
I can go on and on, but like the thread title says, "where is the creativity?".
The fact is we threw the our most creative midfielders away during the window and we're now hoping that Gerrard will be the 2nd coming.
Like that Scottish actor said in trainspotting, "it's a shite state of affairs to be in and no Hollywood ball pinging Adam will change that", or something like that.

Dude - your right on that about Alonso being able to dictate the pace of our team when he was with us and thats been largely the problem ever since he left. He was a master at it and would have thrived really well in the way we are trying to play now. But your earlier post regarding being closed down and not been able to do our passing and creative stuff is very true although I thought we may have gotten over that with Bolton coz they were a team that always closed us down, and caused problems and we were not prevented from creating even against Stoke. Don't really know what happened today other than they (Spurs) were ultra quick in closing us down and pressing going forward and we seemed rushed. I really have doubts about Carroll he seems totally unfit for our team and the way we want to play and adds nothing to our team. We seem to lack a core central midfielder to drive us forward at the moment and thats been largely the issue I think. We desperately need SG back to bring some control and order back to our team.

Hmm i kinda disagree on some points there mate.
Suarez is capable of hitting 15+ plus goals...i know he's not too deadly in terms of finishing but he'll still find the net pretty regularly. Carroll has been brutal to date, no getting away from it...but IF(massive if)...he knocks in a few goals, he can easily chip in with 10-15 goals this season.
Kuyt is always good for 10+ a season, Bellamy too...although 10 goals might be pushing it for him considering he probably won't be a regular starter.
Gerrard and Downing are without doubt capable of scoring 20 goals between them. It's a big ask but it's not beyond them by all means.
Adam has had a few shockers in the last two games but i'd still back him to hit a fair few goals for us this season.
It is rotten watching the Scum scoring belters every bloody week though. Talk about compounding your misery. >🙁
