Where does Haaland sit?

So roughly double what the 2nd highest player gets paid.....fucking joke.

3rd highest paid player in the world behind Mbappe & Ronaldo?

Pitiful he only scores goals and is on over 2.5x Salah’s wage and not even double the goals.
Sell!
Salah's basic is £350k, add bonuses etc.. its probably £600-700k/week. Look at the basic wages of Liverpool, tot it all up, and its approximately less than half of what goes out in actual wages.

Not sure I would want a man's arm around me who is in underpants and looks like he has a sperm sample to hand in

It's actually a good question because it's hard to compare and contrast forwards in that city team. City stand alone in the sort of service they can provide an out and out striker - so in theory you can only compare his goal-scoring to their last striker who was the consistently injured Augero in Pep's reign (spelling !!!). Based on those chances and their overall ball possession as a team - its almost unfair. As an overall footballer - I think he is actually really poor, does not do anything that modern strikers do which is to bring others into play etc. He is just the marksman, and you have to say the best in the world in that position right now when you compare his conversion rate to others in that position.

Unfortunately, Haaland is every bit as good, if not better, than we feared. There's little doubt he's a generational player set to break many existing records. My only hope is that he fucks off to Madrid or injuries start to ruin him. Given the way he's built and the speed he has, I can envisage a timeline when a few ACLs render him a shadow of the player he is today.

Easy there. He aint no Curtis Jones !!!!

I see him as a goal-hanger in a team that predominately attacks the opposition goal. Terrible footballer overall, and does not score memorable goals. But the best marksman in the box I have seen in a long time.

Don't know about "terrible" exactly but I do think Haaland's a player who, in the words of Corporal Jones, "doesn't like it up him". Virgil schooled him good and proper when we beat Salzburg in the CL a while ago and, though overall Citeh won the tie against Real, that was no thanks to Haaland who got monstered by Rüdiger. As long as things are going his and his team's way he's an extremely dangerous player, but I'm not convinced about him when the going gets tough.

He did nothing last night. It was weird, you'd think City would at least punt a few balls at him, but no... completely isolated and largely anonymous for the 90.

Inter did quite well in making sure he always had a few players round him.

Honestly coming out of that final i think inzaghi deserves much more praise than city

The only critical point being that he fielded a fucking donkey up front.

I dunno. Pep managed not to overthink things, played his best side. Haaland took up space and drew defenders. City won the trophy.

Inter completed themselves well in a Pyrrhic victory but let's not kid ourselves. City accomplished their mission.

Yes they did, but what I witnessed was a team that bascialy nullified City in the way they normally like to play, and it did not take too much effort on their part. But listening to Pep's comments afterwards it was written for them this season, especially with the saves that were made to deny Inter an equalizer.

No doubt Inter played well. But it's a one off game and who wins the match wins the trophy. City were mostly nullified but did enough and were mostly in control.

We "battered" Real last year but ultimately they played the match they wanted to play after going ahead. Sure, Courtois had to come up big but who won the trophy?

Depends on what you call control, if the team that is supposed to be in control, has to defend goal-mouth chances then they are not in control - but fucking lucky. Control to me is cutting out the chances before they even reach the goal-keeper. Don't think Real Madrid were in control at all, nor were City last night. But both teams had goal-keepers that made outstanding saves.
