I have to say that I am overall fairly convinced that Klopp - if shown the needed support from the board - will not make as many mistakes on the market as we have been accustomed to of late. It's inevitable that some signings will not turn out but his hit ratio will be better than what we've seen in a long while, is my bet.
A new, influential and commanding central defender should be on top of our list come January - we need to bolster and fortify our back and I don't think either of Sakho (mainly down to injuries) and Lovren (lacking stability, still to many schoolboy errors) has proved they are solid enough to be trusted upon in the long run. Skrtel is Skrtel, full of heart, commitment and stability, but not a leader. His best spells has come alongside a more commanding presence. I believe Klopp could be thinking New CB + 1 of our current lot. And as indicated I wouldn't even be surprised if he was looking to bring in two new faces for that position.
I also believe we are severely lacking an Attacking Winger/Forward type with goals to his name and both pace to burn and ability to leave defenders stranded. Don't get me wrong, I have since the first few glimpses from back when he was still at reserve level rated Ibe immensely and I still do. He will eventually be better than Sterling, is my call. However, he is young and still rough around the edges, so if Klopp wants to improve our attacking width and power - without running him into the ground (as we did with Sterling at some stages during Rodgers tenure) - we need someone to improve us from day one-ish. A player like Griezman would fit that bill perfectly but there are others and the Bundesliga would not be a bad place to start looking.

Yes, I think most people are of the same opinion. New keeper, at least one new CB, a defensive midfielder and a pacy attacking player.
I'd also like a quick new striker, but maybe the aforementioned can do that job. Lots of people have mentioned Griezmann, Lacazette and Aubamayeng (sp) and they all fit the bill
We have no quality DM, no goal threat at all if Benteke/ Sturridge aren't on the pitch, and no pace in attack. Firmino and Lallana simply aren't good enough, although I agree that Ibe has promise.
Lyon are apparently sounding out buyers for Lacazzette with an asking price at about 30 mill £. Shame we spent that amount on Benteke.

Griezmann and Aubameyang wont happen sadly. Both will cost more than 40 mill £ and Griezmann has a ton of suitors while Auba said he wants to move to Spain.

You are probably right, but as with Martial (whom I honestly knew little of before United suddenly came calling) there can be players out there, ready to step up that has gone somewhat under the radar. That type of player - though hard to find/or extremely expensive - would give us far more attacking edge and make life easier for Coutinho as we are looking far to stationary with the current lot like Benteke/Firmino (none of which I have completely written of yet mind as they do possess some key qualities). I think we need 'that' player more than say a DM because I really have high hopes for Can to make that spot his own.
In a 'perfect' window we'd bolster at least 5-6 positions though - guess physio room will probably have its say on how many new faces we are bringing in too.
