What a mess!

Maybe he should have been. Anyway, this is just one argument amongst a multitude of examples where I think Kenny has got it wrong. I didn't want him as manager as I felt he'd been out the game too long and his record at his most recent clubs was patchy at best. That said, I'd like nothing more than for him to turn it around. It would be brilliant to see Kenny deliver real success at Liverpool.

Is it ?

This goes back to what I said last week, process v. results.

People judge Rafa as a tactical genius because of the CL win. If we'd lost a penalty shoot out you wouldn't have anything to back up the assertion - and to insist he's a tactical genius is to ignore the fact that his genius tactics had us three down in the Final. It was forced decision making that rectified things. On the flip side if Chelsea had won a penalty shoot out Avram Grant would have won them a CL, something the best manager in the world ever never managed to do at Chelsea.

Literally the only difference between then and now is Steven Gerrard wasn't completely fucking shite back in 2005. People have no idea how to rate managers, mainly because you don't take into account all of the relevant factors. They assume that if a club does well it's because the manager is doing really well - which is quite often simply not the case.

It's just lose a game - manager got his tactics wrong. Won - manager got it right. Simplistic bollocks which is typical of football.

Tactics is just like card counting in poker, it marginally shifts the odds in your favour but more often than not the best hand is still going to win. We should be focusing on putting together the best hand that we can, not marginal bollocks like tactics.

You can't even begin to imagine how very far you are from fully understanding what it is you are talking about. Nevertheless you are correct. Oh, except that you have poker confused with blackjack. And card counting most definitely did work in blackjack before the risk of getting pummeled with a baseball bat began to outweigh the potential gain.

Rafa had a fully confident/fit Torres, a fully fit and in his pomp Gerrard, the best DM in football, Alonso, Carra, Hyypia & a far better Reina. Though Ryan wasn't as vocal about his tactics back then, he cost us many points with odd tactics (especially the year we should have won the title). I don't know if Kenny would have done better though.

That argument has come up a few times mate but still not sure about it.

Okay, I can see how that could be an issue (arguably it has been!) but we know he was a quality manager in the past. If he had got a manager in from abroad then surely we would give him a season to get up to speed with the league, so why wouldn't we do that with someone who we know was quality before but might need to adapt to the modern day Premier League?

Max 21 pts still to play for. Anyone figure we'll get to 60 pt end of season?

It was his form with Celtic and Newcastle that worried me Richey.

Fair enough, but even that was some time ago now. Does someone just lose the ability to be a good manager over the years? Or was he not really that good the first time around?

It's easier to manage when you have the best team in the country. Ask Avram Grant what the difference is between Chelsea and West Ham

God, I hope that isn't it. I want Kenny to pull this around and walk out on top.

He took over the best team in the country, but didn't just rely on that one. He bought new players.

He also didn't have the best team in the country when he took over at Blackburn.

Our players should not be allowed to go on holiday once the season ends. Boot camp is calling!

Okay, I'll ask again: what does Steve Clarke actually do? Lots of people seemed to know, and value, what Pako did. So what does Clarke do?

He's the reason we were good defensively a while back.

Now he apparently doesn't do anything.

I'd be more worried about going down then catching the teams infront of us. Thats my biggest worry as impossible as it sounds. But when you pick up 8 points from the last 33 and lose every game you play its cause for concern.

Our league form is a scandal. I think everyone else but Kenny would have been gone.

We're too good to go down.

Or, more accurately, I don't think it's possible for all the teams below us to get 43 points.

If another manager had a track record of success like Kenny has do you not think they would be given more time?

kennys a legend and no mater what he does he will always remain one. but right now he's not a good manager, are points tally is abysmal, especially considering how poor other teams have been.
