Post Match West Ham (H) 2-1 Sunday 13th April

Bradley was a real positive for me today again. I really hope we go for Kerkez and line up next year with the two best young full backs in the game.
Agreed. We definitely dropped when he came off, which I assume was just to protect him after his recent time out.

Fuck it lads we won, that’s all that mattered today and in a couple of weeks we’ll be champions and those lucky enough to live in Liverpool will have one hell of a party!

Let’s fucking enjoy it.

Imagine the Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Spurs and Utd fan forums.

Perspective!

No 20 baby!

There needs to be a conversation about Jota after the season. 16 touches in 60 mins. Moves like his body is finished.
I’d sell him this summer.
I can see him being kept and leave for free the summer after. Can't imagine we'll make good money for him, and I can't imagine we'll buy 2 9s.

I completely agree with you, I just can't see it

I’d start Diaz upfront against Leicester

I just think we gave a limited midfield selection beyond the main 3 and we need more quality options to bring in after 65 mins.
Agree with this. We could really use a creative AM to come in when needed. Macca sometimes can pull this off and Elliott brings something, but we need much better. They might be considered a luxury signing, but we have seen many times this season that we could use someone luxury.

I care about performances. This is the crunch part of the season and another season where performances drop. I dont like it

We can wank ourselves silly when we win the fucking thing, but that doesn't mean we should be accepting of a certain level of performance
This is a West Ham side who despite their position won away at Newcastle and Arsenal.

They absolutely have players who can score and their tactical switch completely fooled Slot.

Take the 3 pts and run!

It would be a lot more fun if we didn’t play like shit.

He had nobody to cover so was covering the space. It’s a pretty normal thing for a full back to do Virgil was just asleep yet again.

Its not normal for a full back to be across your own goal and going for the ball there.

Robbo has been awful and his decision making has been horrendous all season.

Performances can drop all they like if we still win the league. Fuck care how we got the 3 points. We won, enjoy it.

Points win you the league. You don’t get extra points for flashy style.

First half review: fucking loved it. All action, crisp passing and balanced. Tsimi and Bradley did the fullback jobs perfectly, and bradders unlucky not to score. First half mo was great. Beautiful touches and vision and a sublime assist. Diaz, dangerous and direct, as any winger should be. Jones was fine, Macca brilliant. Gravy not at the races

2nd half review: no. Just no. All substitutes were wrong for me, except maybe gakpo, as he was replacing an awful Jota. Both fullbacks went from a strength to a glaring weakness. I understand quansah, as he's a CB; but fuck me robbo was bad. Szob put in a more shithouse ghost performance than Gini ever did. I remember nothing of him. The defensive fuck up for me is on Robbo going to a space he didn't need to go to. Thank Christ for Macca.

Some of the players, not all. The subs actively made us worse.

We play 1 game a week now. If that's mental fatigue then we may as well get knocked out of everything early.

We have quite a few mentally fragile players out there, who don't like fighting. All well and good to excel when then entire team turns up; different kettle of fish when you need to do it alone potentially

There's a few passengers in our side, and I'm getting fed up of itn

Agree about the subs. Tsimikas should not have been brought off and Robbo is in another bad patch. Quansah is not a right back at all but I'm sympathetic that Bradley likely didn't have 90 mins in him and there weren't other options.

Both full backs are out of match fitness and Bradley has just returned from injury. A sub after 60 was always on the cards for him.

I dislike performances dropping though. Even fatigued, you should be playing for your position and for pride.

I Understand the rationale for the sub, but Christ it was such a downgrade

I would be bothered if we were still in the CL but I love the fact rival fans must be fucking livid we are pissing it with performances like this.

Cowards? Fuck off. We have the grit and determination of champions.

We never give up.

Dom ran everywhere, you should watch it back.

I’m sure as said above, nerves would be a massive issue if it were a small lead. But even with a healthy lead, it’s still the league. A league almost everyone outside of Liverpool has us down as already having one. If we lose it, it will go down as the most embarrassing collapse ever. Of course there will be nerves to some degree.
Fatigue, obviously, too.

As the season has gone on, I've noticed:

1) More errors creeping in from VVD and Konate.
2) Mo's legs starting to go around 70mins, and unable to beat players 1v1s (especially 2nd half).
3) Our other forwards + Szobo contributing less and less.
4) Gravy looking less and less dominating in DM.
5) Our FBs getting beat more and more
6) Reliance on Quansah/Keheller/Jones being more and more costly
7) Slot's subs being less effective

I think we need to solve this in the transfer market. This team is at the end of a cycle. Thankfully, we're picking up a league title. Slot has done a magnificent job in the first 2/3 of the season. But this last 1/3 should serve as a warning ahead of next season.
And my question is, why doesn't Slot change it up, instead of letting the same players continue stinking up the place?

I really wish some of you would use different words when talking about our players... 'Coward' is a terrible word to use on a group of players that are leading the league by 13 points. They're not - They're knackered, and with physical fatigue comes mental errors. On another thread, some gobshite called Robbo a useless cunt. He's not - He's a fucking legend who's time has come. Show a little fucking respect, for Christ's sake.

That was a brutal last 50/60 minutes. The changes robbed us of any structure or fluidity. The second Robbo entered the pitch, Bowen went and stood beside him and they targeted him repeatedly after that. Quansah for Bradley was a head-scratcher that I really hope was just managing minutes after a lengthy injury.

They have some smashing players, and their leagie position doesn't reflect how good they can be... Kudis in particular looked unplayable at times. For us, Diaz, Mo, Macca and Gravvy started soooooooo well, but then verybody just lost their way with about 10 minutes left in the first half. Except Ali, thank jeebus - He's absolutely fucking magnificent, and he's as important as Virgil to us, and more so than any other player.

I share many of the concerns being put forth over these last few weeks, about Slot's refusal to rotate, to even bother with certain players, and the glaring need to strengthen at both FB positions, but I'm hoping that it's just him waiting until he gets some players in that he does trust this summer (fingers crossed), and then he'll do a lot more rotating and managing minutes... We've been lucky that his stubbornness hasn't hurt us this season - If he persists with this shit next season, than we really WILL have problems.

And my question is, why doesn't Slot change it up, instead of letting the same players continue stinking up the place?
Because he likes the system, and doesn't rate the players I reckon. He's rather cripple someone than let Elliott, chiesa or endo get more than 5 minutes

I’d sell him this summer.

He does look quite acutely fucked doesn't he. If ever there was someone ripe for the Saudi Pro League it's him.

I've given Arsenal loads of credit for their injured strikers but maybe I was wrong. Is Merino that much worse than Jota?
